Hi big pharma is going down. Many of the drugs are filled with ingredients to do more harm than good. Soon the whole medical system will be removed and holistic natural ways of healing are coming. As for Keto diet the reduction of junk food and processed foods brings people restoration of health. The carnivore diet works well too. On carnivore people mostly eat meat eggs bacon food sh and seafood and people lose weight regain health and I can personally say that after being on carnivore for almost a year health weight loss and a more peaceful mentality help me have great peace. I wish you peace health and happiness.

It's not an "abuse of power" for government to say it's not going to pay for a research project. Government does this all the time, particularly with NASA and defense research. Government priorities change. Budgets get reviewed and new things get prioritized. This study was being funded by the state of Maryland and they said they didn't want to pay for it. Maybe they're trimming budgets to find money to fix the bridge in Baltimore that got destroyed by a ship a few months ago.

Maddening! I'm day 88 of carnivore, In ketosis since early March and I've seen more benefits in 4 mths than 20 yrs of other treatments. I started an Agoraphobia July Challenge, to go out every day for July. I'm a housebound agoraphobic. I can't remember the last time I left me home every day, but it's been around 15 yrs. This would have been impossible to even think about before carnivore. I will shout from the roof tops about what's happening to me. People are suffering. I suffered for 20 yrs and they shut down a study! Disgraceful

What’s sad is that as an MD anesthesiologist I do anesthesia for ECTs (electroconvulsant therapy) all the time for treatment resistant patients and dislike it very much. But these patients have no other options. This seems so promising. I wish this health board could see these patients and witness what they have to go through when a dietary change coukd help them remarkably.

As a psychiatrist and researcher myself I must say that it's very unfortunate that the study was put on hold / shut down. It's hard to get funding from NIH (CIHR in Canada). Private funding should be fine - pharma companies are sponsoring studies left and right. Also, the use of the ketogenic diet seems to be on a safer side of research and there are a lot of studies showing that it's relatively safe in general. Hope you get your green light.

I’m a survivor of psychiatric medications They were started for preventive migraine treatment when I started peri menopause. What a disaster. I never thought I’d be anti-medication. I’m a retired RN. @@rdallas81 I took amitriptyline for about 5 years in my 30s. I actually had the best success with it but I had no sex drive at all so I chose to discontinue it. It took me about 3 years to sleep properly again. I was taking 50mg. With perimenopause in my 40s, the headaches got much worse and were diagnosed as chronic and my mom was diagnosed with ALS. They had me try Cipralex, Zoloft, Effexor, and Fetzima. I’m in Canada so some of the names might be different. Also there was trazadone for sleep, nortriptyline top ups to the SSRI or SNRI. And my favourites the gabapentin and topiramate. There was maxeran and stemitil for my nausea. I was on something called pizotifen which is an seratonin antagonist. I was desperate to get back to work and I wanted to avoid opioids or other pain meds. I ended up with a benzo dependency and opioid addiction. I asked to see a psychiatrist because I was having hypomanic episodes. They saw me for 10 minutes and said I had BPD or Bipolar. Happy ending though because I’m off everything but gabapentin. I’m waiting for my hot flashes to improve to start weening off that. I want to tell my story but I have to wait for my brain to recover a bit more.

I’ve been ketogenic for over 2 years for metabolic reasons, but my well drug-controlled epilepsy, caused by massive brain bleed during surgery has now dramatically improved on much lower dosing! I can’t afford to monitor glucose, nor ketones, so studies supporting the obvious brain effects of ketosis may have offered me benefits to monitor myself closely. I am very upset that this supportive study was shut down!

Thank you for your video and mentioning the petition. I just signed the petition. I didn't know much about the issue. As for using Keto diet for treating sounds like a good treat for schizophrenia. I have been on keto myself and even as a regular person it has helped me lose weight heal my body. Now I am on carnivore diet for almost a year and have lost weight an improving my health even more. I have enough experience with both keto and carnivore are very good for health weight loss and even promoting peace and tranquility. Changes are coming soon to the world then I believe future funding for the novel idea for helping people get these benefits. Please do not give up . Soon this study and many other worthwhile ways to help people will be implemented. Get ready this and many other good and beneficial things are coming soon. Do not give up.

I wish you all the luck in getting this study going again. My brother was a treatment resistant paranoid schizophrenic and he was on a injection anti-psychotic. When he passed, it was a month before his 25th birthday and in the toxicology report from the coroners office he had a fatal level of his anti-psychotic medication built up in his system. His injections were administered only by a nurse. The medication doesn’t leave the body the same way other medications do. If there had been an alternative option for treatment that worked better than the injection, like a ketogenic diet? It’s a real possibility that he would still be here today…

My son has suffered since 2015 with treatment resident schizophrenia. Unfortunately he receives his treatment from the VA and they have established his baseline and his doctor won’t try any different medication because she doesn’t want to increase any symptoms. It is malpractice as far as I’m concerned. They should always strive to find something that will improve the quality of life. Wish we could afford a private physician.

This is a reason why central planning doesn’t work for science. Why should you have to educate lawmakers in order to do experiments? At least with central planning of an economy, we can see the immediate failure. But the gradual takeover of science by central planning has not had a similar immediate dramatic failure obvious to all. It’s been a progressive disease.

If someone is copper toxic and goes on a ketogenic diet, the diet can help reduce inflammation but the diet can also cause someone to begin to release toxins from fat cells, which can cause worsening of symptoms. The first line of defense is to get unbound copper levels measured through ceruloplasm, serum levels and also HTMA. Then you would want to do a detox of unbound copper and heavy metals and do mineral balancing before doing just straight keto, as fat cells releasing these toxins can skew the results of a keto study.

@@BeatrizHatfield-vc4ig The toxic release doesn’t always show up in big symptoms but in small ways and small amounts until you develop things like MCAS or MS or weight gain despite diet. It took 3 straight years of keto, weight loss and improvement before I found out I had been releasing and redistributing toxins in my body. Now I have quite the mess to untangle. Going slowly with diet change while getting HTMA, mineral balancing and heavy metals removed can be amazing and powerful. Test…don’t guess.

In my country Sweden this could never happen. Totally unethical and against all GCP and regulatory laws. And the pharmacy industry can not influence and hinder research studies in Sweden as well. The ethical review board would never let anyone discontinue this study. Unethical behavior since the patients are already participating in the study.

Who might benefit by stopping this study ? Could it be the pharmaceutical industry ? The results may be very likely to show that metabolic treatments work vastly better than pharmaceutical products ! The reasons for stopping this study appear to me to be very unethical.
