Metal Detecting an Aqua Golf Park: A Unique Underwater Adventure!

I went diving at an Aqua Golf park with my friends ‪@MichaelOliverLJR‬ and ‪@downunderdandiving3357‬, looking for lost golf clubs and other treasures! I'm using the Nokta PulseDive underwater metal detector, and my BLU3 Nemo portable diving system. You won't believe just how many golf clubs we successfully retrieved from the water.
Also featuring a cameo appearance from the ‪@detect-ed‬ magnet fishing team! 😆 Thank you to Dan and also the Penrith Aqua Golf Park for making this adventure happen.

I would never have expected so many clubs in there, makes you wonder!! Liquor is permitted on the golf range though so maybe too many post-brew matches were being had. Cheers Gavin :)

It didn't take much for it to silt up - I'd check one zone, zip a few metres away and check a new spot just so I could continue to see! 😆 What a great day :)

Playing it back, I realise I missed a few - there’s at least three in the video that I didn’t see at the time! It was so much fun hanging out with everyone, Part 2 gets really interesting with the finds (we head next door to a wake park). Cheers John 😊

You still managed to find a fishing related item, but I didnt see a sinker amongst your finds, unusual...! 3rd coin in, confusion reigns, 20c on the left 10c on the right, whoops! I wouldn't want to be a fish in that pond, concussions would be a common complaint, I expected a few clubs but nothing like what was found, its a wonder they had any left to rent out! A different but enjoyable hunt, but I think I would prefer water that I can see what might be sneaking up on me, Cheers Mish!

Well spotted on the goofed-up caption, I'm not sure what happened there, oops! There's hundreds more clubs in that water but as it is at the end of the warm season, the weed is growing rampant in there and we couldn't get to the base of the deeper sections of the pond. Might have to have a re-match in the future at some stage. Cheers mate!

It was the strangest feeling, the weeds were very soft and easily movable so it was like moving through a curtain of fabric strips. They got even worse in the other location we detected that day -- there'll be a video of that too in the near future. Cheers!!

Ha! My portable cooker doesn't go hot enough to melt steel, so I might stick with lead. Resourceful thinking, though. 😉

Mish that was a new adventure. I’ve watched Michael for a long while. I had never seen Dan before but I’ll have to check him out. You of course are still my favorite

Dan doesn't post much to KZfaq these days, but he has had past videos at this site. More recently, he has begun the incredibly selfless mission of tracking down, identifying and retrieving underwater sunken vehicles with the intent of solving missing persons cases. I had the pleasure of accompanying him for a couple of days when he passed through Victoria and learned a great deal. Cheers David. :)

325 clubs total! It was a crazy morning. Apparently that's a small haul, the weed was quite overgrown there on the day (it dies off over winter) so I guess we'll have to have a rematch one day in the future. Cheers Susan :)

Hello and welcome to you, Noralee! It does get quite cold where I live on the bottom edge of the mainland, however diving in Canada is next-level cold!! One of my Canadian buddies, Pink Power Ally Treasure Hunter, is actually in your region as well and she, like Michael performs land and water recoveries for folks. I'd definitely recommend seeking her out on KZfaq to further even out your ratio. Bye for now and have a lovely week!

It makes you wonder, hey! 😂 Apparently we barely scratched the surface, there’s hundreds more out there but the seaweed was thicker than usual due to recent warm/sunny weather. We had an invite into the neighbouring wakeboarding park straight after this, I’ll pop that one up soon 😁 Cheers Gadzee!

Well fancy you travelling all the way up to Penrith. That's only half an hour from Windsor, where I only recently moved to Victoria from. Were you planning on doing any metal detecting while you are in Sydney? It's certainly a bit warmer up there I'm sure. My daughter used to shoot golf balls into that lake when she was younger 😊 So what brought you to Penrith? That's certainly a long way from your usual hunting places in southern Victoria 😆

I actually got in a few different adventures while up there, one already went up on my channel a few weeks ago (look for the thumbnail of Ed and I in our dive gear and "Gold!" written next to us). It wasn’t a pleasant feeling, I’ll give it that. Normally I have a knife on me for such instances, but I really didn’t expect to need one here. The key is to remain calm and not thrash about, and to surface when feasible to do so. 😊 Nonetheless it was a ripper day out, and I’m even more excited to share Part 2 from the spot next door. I am terrible at golf, both above AND below the water!! lol. As for the sinker, maybe? I never saw what the line was attached to, it was right around me and had quite a lot of tension on it - perhaps it was wrapped around one of the signs. Once I got close enough to shore to get out of that predicament, some of the other folks managed to retrieve it from the water while I kept diving. Cheers Lee :)

You never know what you’ll find when metal detecting, so I recommend trying all sorts of different locations if it is OK to do so in your country. I try lots of different places - parks, fields, beaches, in the water. There is a KZfaqr ‘Walky Vee’ who makes detecting videos in India, perhaps ask him about questions relating to your country…? 😊
