Even Kojima fell victim to his own warnings of the dangers of digital Mis-information. When Former prime minister Shinzo Abe was shot a couple months ago, 4chan made a joke(i would assume it was a joke anyways) post with pictures of Kojima wearing Russian styled hat, another with a Joker shirt, another with a Che Guevara shirt and said that the shooter was a far-left commie, incel. The Far-Right news outlets ate up this information and spat it back out as the truth. Kojima Productions has filed a lawsuit on the outets who slandered him as a killer

People who hate MGS2 is still stick on the Raiden switch and not seeing the bigger picture, it has took us 10 to 20 years to truly understand this message and this is truly spotted on. Everything GW is saying describe our society as a whole. As a kid I truly never understand this because i was a kid but then after 10 years later after the game release on HD remaster that I slowly understand it but now another 10 years and i see the picture Kojima was trying to say, MGS3 is a great game but this right here is something of premonition, revelation, we need to give this game more praise than it should, this game has truly stand with the tides of time itself. I feel like that switch was needed to help people to understand the story that much deeper If you still don't want to see the full picture and still upset about Raiden switch to Snake then you are truly lost and shows how small minded you truly are.

(twin towers) (originally MGS2 was going to be called MGS3 which was to represent the 3 tallest buildings in NYC (Twin towers and Empire State) was switched to MGS2:Sons of liberty 10-26-01 The “Patriot act” is signed (as a result of the so called “terrorist attacks”) giving the gov power to spy on us 11-13-01 Metal Gear solid 2 sons of liberty is released - The game starts and ends in New York…..and the main antagonist are called “The Patriots” aka illuminati 11-13-01 (metal gear solid 2 release date) to 8-24-2002 (Hideo Kojima's birthday) is exactly 9 months and 11 days apart Not to mention your 1st mission as raiden is disarming bombs for a controlled demolition of big shell just as the controlled demolition (9-11) 2-3-2002 - Patriots win the superbowl (scripted to win as a means to galvanize the American pubic being "patriotic" to fight the so called "war on terror"

I recall when Qanon came onto the scene back in 2017. As soon as the term 'the patriots' started being thrown around, MGS was the first thing I thought of - at first it really took me back & couldn't believe what I was seeing with my own eyes. I'm 34 now & still remember using dial up internet to get cheat codes for my Nintendo 64 games with AOL instant messenger being the only way to talk to friends outside of school etc.. Gen Z is too young to see what the internet has become, while our parents are too old. Take that a step further and x>75% of millennials are too ignorant to see what the internet has become & they are the ones who had the best chance at doing so. But, to say the least, it's fascinating watching this play out. Shout out to those who are watching the insanity of the world being live-streamed, while also keeping their emotions grounded & not being compromised. Thanks for making this video.
@HakunonMatata

It's quite tragic in a sense. Millennials were around when the internet culture was at it's infancy and arguably mostly 'innocent'. But much like many things human beings acquire for generations, we found a way to turn it into a tool and a weapon and none of us did anything to stop it or rather we were to ignorant to know what was happening under our noses. The internet in the mid 2000s and earlier 2010s is infinitely different from what it is now. And the more time goes on, the better MGS2 ages.

We got substance with the VR missions, the exclusive PlayStation 2 skateboarding mini game, they making of documentary and also the document of metal gear solid 2 which allowed us to free roam anywhere in the map and inspect the 3D models using the game along with tons of other game assets. No other metal gear game got that treatment, and for good reason. Metal gear solid 3 was complete and utter disappointment of a video game. Can't stand it in fact.

To me it's just like Ghost In The Shell, many of the terms and concepts you don't fully understand when you're younger but upon reviewing them again you not only understand them better but the comparisons to those events in real life are now more apparent. Japanese media often have deep introspection that is quite frankly staggering compared to western media which doesn't hit those same levels.

The same goes for American Psycho and any similar media that has something insightful to show. This is all because people decide what to take with them, what they like, they will choose. It all depends on the eyes of our souls. If our eyes are dirty, then even the most holy phenomenon, will be considered dirty from us. Of course, there is always some funny moments to remember by but the most important thing is to remember the insightful and live by it. By taking what you like to take from conversations, people, topics, you prove that you completely miss the point and only want to make your life, by your own set of rules. It also references the concept of always blaming others and not taking responsibility, we don't want our little mask to crumble and show our true self.

Got chills down my spine multiple times, even though I've heard this speech so many times. Adding some real-life footage and commonly used social media apps as talking images dramatically intensified the gravity of what the AI was trying to prevent; an eerie, contextless dystopia governed by "truth". Kojima and his team literally prophesized the future on a 2001 video game. Visionaries, all of them.

This is a perfect edit adapted to it. The original name of this, is called Ideological Subversion, it's how context is created. First part of it is Demoralization, second is Destabilization, Third is Crisis, and lastly: Normalization. “What it basically means is: to change the perception of reality of every American to such an extent that despite of the abundance of information no one is able to come to sensible conclusions in the interest of defending themselves, their families, their community, and their country.” "“They are programmed to think and react to certain stimuli in a certain pattern [alluding to Pavlov]. You can not change their mind even if you expose them to authentic information. Even if you prove that white is white and black is black, you still can not change the basic perception and the logic of behavior.” "“As I mentioned before, exposure to true information does not matter anymore,” said Bezmenov. “A person who was demoralized is unable to assess true information. The facts tell nothing to him. Even if I shower him with information, with authentic proof, with documents, with pictures; even if I take him by force to the Soviet Union and show him [a] concentration camp, he will refuse to believe it, until he [receives] a kick in his fat-bottom. When a military boot crashes his balls then he will understand. But not before that. That’s the [tragedy] of the situation of demoralization.” - Yuri Bezmenov kzfaq.info/get/bejne/j5-Eqcx62r60g3k.html
