The Chicken Coop is taking shape with a new roof, insulation from wall to ceiling and vapor barrier installed. Lastly, we tackle some of the interior sheathing before calling it quits.

The extra overhang width on the low edge of the roof was intentional. That helped the snow fall further away from the structure to help reduce snow load against the wall.

So glad that you are taking the time to not only make the chickens safe but dry. So many people make improvements but never think of investing time in the top of a structure. If you have a solid roof then all the hard work below will last a long time.

We're going to have to start calling you two the Dynamic Duo! There isn't much that you haven't done or that you won't attempt. And you are a true team, you help each other so much to get the job done. You two are the epitome of a marriage, a couple that works together to attain their goal. Our hats off to Ariel, even though she has a fear of heights she was still on the roof working to get the job done. Didn't know this before and thought back to all the work you two did on the siding on the other cabin. Wow, girl. Also want to say how much we respect you both for wearing PPE while doing all the work, our hearing and eyesight help protect us so much, more than most think.

Being a roofer and seeing the problem you guys are addressing; ISO or ice and water shield is Definitely the way to go for underpayment!! Especially in your climate. Happy you have experience and skills to do it correctly 😊❤

I'm so glad you guys upgraded your chicken coop. We did likewise, with the exception that we left the floor bare ground so we don't damage the "floor" while cleaning the coop at least twice per year. Ours is insulated, too, with OSB walls and insulated big doors. We also have a little chicken door on both ends of the coop. We put in a "high security" fence to keep the predators out. and we have a bigger "low security" area to keep the chickens shut in on trash day when the trash guys come in an empty the dumpster once a week. Then, after the trash truck leaves, we open the low security gates an let the girls out. We have 2.5 irrigated and completely fenced acres in western Colorado, two 125# St. Pyrenees LG dogs, Arlo and Hannah, 4 cats for mouse control, 40 chickens, 52 assorted fruit and nut trees. I LOVE your channel. You guys get along so well together, and you obviously love your animals too. I LOVE your channel! Keep up the great work! 👍👍❤❤

You still have Bees, and snow! The Chickens look like they are doing well. They should appreciate the upgrade. The roof is a little longer on the backside of the downslope to help keep the falling snow away from the building. You'll find with a metal roof the snow will curl around and come back towards the building. My tip of the day :)

You put your heart and soul into everything that you do. 😊 I personally enjoy watching the canning of salmon and other fish. The canning process is so interesting. I've never canned anything before! I can't seem to get enough of your video's. Like I am looking daily for new video's. You both are so hard working people, and you work as a team and I admire that. Noticeably you never fight or argue. I also think , that it is soon very cool that the husband does A LOT of the cooking and good meals too. Thanks for letting us in on your life, cause our life is boring!!!!!!😊

Love watching all your abilities come to life. You all make hard work fun. Your girls and (guy) will appreciate all the chaos now, when there not cooking in summer and when winter is here and they dont freeze. Cant wait to see your videos, its a special big YES when i see you have uploaded one. I could literally watch you everyday! I know however thats alot of work. Looking forward to your next one.
