Thanks for making this video, it was great! Because of the low cost of custom made metal signs using DTF, I could see people offering metal signs with photos of family, pets and special events. Thanks again!

Wasn't necessarily planning to but maybe...if I can think of a good test. Any suggestions? My biggest piece of advise when DTFing a hard surfaces is to use a spray clear coat to help it be more durable.

What time of heat preasure ypu use sir. And what kind of metal ? Its a matal sublimated. Tnx for your tutorial sir.

300F med high pressure. this was just a piece of sheet metal from home depot.

Place wood sign face down in cold heat press and shut lid. Leave it for about a half hour. The pressure from the press will flatten the bow caused by the heat. Works on canvas boards and any other porous hard surfaces that tend to bow under the heat (it's the moisture). Works like a charm every time.

With the wood one, can you use a polycrylic product on it?? Sorry for the bad spelling! I would want to seal the wood in the things I make.

100% I would definitely do that!

sprayed on - not brushed. Something in the dtf makes the poly pool. Thin spray coats of a sealer work.

Do you get the same effect as you can’t get with sublimation? Will DTF be more matte?

no sublimation will be more durable, it's the better option for metal signs. This was mostly an experiment to see if it would work for folks that just have a DTF printer and no sublimation.

Have you tried DTF on a pearl weave jiu jitsu uniform top and a heavy weight karate uniform top? (they're different materials)

do you have a recommendation for such a garment. That's a bit outside our wheel house...which should make testing fun!

Yes, a JiuJitsu gi top. There are several low cost brands available on Amazon. I'm just wondering how well the dtf would adhere to the heavy weave of the fabric.

@@Ninjoe1978 it should be fine, we've done other items that had a heavy weave pattern but we'll give it a test.

I can not get it to stick to a dollar tree piece of metal have you tried that type of metal

no but there may be some oil or coating on it to keep it from weathering. try scuffing it with some sand paper and wiping it down with some isopropyl alcohol to remove and coating or oil.
