New to the EDC scene and these are my favorite knife videos on youtube and MC comes through once again with a life saver for me right here. Just got my spyderco (China cough cough) and it was rubbing on the inside liner got it to about 40/60 in 2 minutes with this method and I can live with that on a budget knife thank you sir! PS I'm drooling over the Shaman it's on my wish list.

Thanks for putting this video out. I've been trying to fix my spyderco Tuff for a while. It's been my favorite knife for years, but I had to disassemble it a while back because it had gotten so filthy. Normally it goes back together perfectly, but the last time I couldn't get it centered without the pivot being too tight to open, now it's much better ( still not perfect, but close ), so I'll be carrying it tomorrow!

Worked great on my Yojimbo 2. Had perfect centering from factory and I got a set of aftermarket micarta scales for it. Took it apart to install scales, put it back together was horrible blade centering. Almost blade touching the show side. I took it back apart and together again and did the same thing. Just tried doing what you shown and this actually works I'm amazed. Its not perfect but its damn near. Thank you!!!

I got the Kershaw CQC4KXL last Christmas when BladeHQ had them on sale for $20. It was so bad that it scraped, it took alot of work to get that guy even close to center, never got it perfect, but close and action is awesome now.

Similarly I got the cheapest offering they had at the time $25 emerson cqc-6k frame lock. the blade was off center and sounded like it was scraping. i didn't know what to do at the time, so i just tightened it, which centered it, but was then too tight to open. so i loosened it back up until it would open but then it sounded like it was scraping. finally i lubed it up with little improvement. finally i tightened down all the screws on the scales and that seemed to help the best, i just wish i had this video to tell me the trick about wedging the blade over.

Holy smokes did this video post at the perfect time. I just received my Spyderco Shaman in REX 45 with Dymondwood handles and the blade came a touch off center. That’s the only thing “wrong” with the knife and it really bummed me out when I first excitedly tore into the box to get to the knife. These videos are great to see and unique to what everyone else is doing. Thank you!

Just want to thank you for this video! I have a bunch of cheaper knives such as Gerber and Kershaw knives that have been given to me as gifts and this technique fixed them to perfection. I know many people have a love hate relationship with Gerber (love the look, hate the knife). Well every single one of mine is smooth as silk and perfectly centered. It’s too bad Gerber doesn’t do this right from the factory. Thanks again man.

The only really badly off-center blade I've had was on a Spyderco Tenacious. I was still brand new to collecting & working on knives (still kind of am now), & after watching this video & following your instructions, I couldn't get the blade centered no matter what. It was really, really far off, almost touching the show side of the scales no matter how I adjusted it. Turns out that changing the pocket clip from tip down to tip up was the culprit. The only way to get it centered again was to -- *gasp* -- change it back to tip down. So I ended up returning the knife, & I'm glad I did. Since then I've bought several higher end Spydercos & have been much happier! 😀 I'm still glad I watched this video, though, because I have no doubt it'll be useful to me in the future.

Thanks! Sub’ed. Watched a ton of similar videos, but yours had enough more useful info to actually help me get it right. Here’s a tip in return: I find it a hell of a lot more convenient to have a second bit driver on hand when doing stuff like this, so I don’t have to keep switching bits out. I use the stubby for the part that needs the most subtlety or torque, then usually a cheapo driver can be used for the other bit. And a third if necessary etc. For me it’s one of those little things that makes the job smoother. Cheers!
