The first time I listened Coraline I thought this was the most desperate and gorgeous love song I ever heard. The line "each little tear is like an ocean on my face" deeply hit me. The studio version is great but this one orchestrated is unforgettable. Thanks for your reaction. What a nice journey since your first reaction of Are you ready? I am glad you didn't stop even you totally disliked that one. A great new album Rush! is waiting for new reviews.

Ciao ... Bella reazione ...

@@lisamarcato4507 no worries, your English is not bad. But when did he say about it? Cause I was reading some of the comments and many articles about the meaning of this song and I only saw his words about this song being based on a true story with a bad/sad ending and that everyone can interpret it however they want. AWESOME reaction! I like how much thought you put into your reviews. It shows you really engage with every song you watch. I love when people analyse the lyrics. Damiano (singer) usually writes them by himself. He has so much to say, so much to convey. And they're so young! Thomas, the guitarrist, is the youngest, he just turned 21. Damiano, the singer, is the oldest, he just turned 24. Victoria, bassist, and Ethan, drummer, are 22 and 21, respectively. I find their talent and chemistry impressive, you can tell they've been playing together since they were in school. Thomas was just 13 when they started the band! I can't wait to see where they'll be in five years from now, as more mature musicians. You should check out their earlier videos of practicing in school and busking in the streets of Rome as teenagers (Early/Street Performances 2015-2017), just to have an idea of where they came from and where they are now. It's a super interesting watch. Also check out La Paura del Buio, if you haven't yet! There's a performance for Radio Italia Live with english lyrics. It goes HARD.

I'm sorry but this is a misunderstanding. After this performance where he got very emotional (he was crying by the end) he posted a message thanking Giorgia for "having him writing the song" meaning she had encouraged him to write the song. Many have misunderstood his message and wrote on social media that Coraline is inspired by Giorgia however that's just speculation, Damiano has never confirmed that and in all interviews when asked he has always said he didn't want to talk about the story behind the song because it was about somebody he knew a while ago (based on when the song was written it might even be from his teen years) but was a story with no happy ending that he has translated into a fairytale.like song.

when you have the lyrics of a song like coraline in the video, a song that is an anthem because of those wonderful lyrics, and you don't have the decency to read a single sentence... then we can already say that it's a bad review. All the passion you see in the singer's voice is because coraline is his girlfriend, a sick woman with depression and judged by society. The lyrics are the really unique thing about this song, what touches your heart, because there are many coralines in the world, unfortunately. It's not all about music, the Italian lyrics in maneskin are just as important, if not more important, but I guess only people with a minimum of sensitivity know that. You like that line...when all the lines of coralines are amazing

@@taliahnat8772 You have to read the lyrics while listening to them, to see how Damiano's voice changes depending on what he is saying, how he sings sweetly, how he sings with sorrow, how he sings desperately and when he does it with anger And even reading the lyrics at the end, he had no fucking idea what Damiano was saying, the depth of the song. Thomas' guitar solo is practically identical to one by RHCP, the only really original thing in this song and for what will always improve, being his best song, is because of the lyrics and you know it as well as I know it, even if you don't want to admit it

Your opinion is valid. However, with this song, it would not be possible to do better than this reactor did for most. The song is in a foreign language, it is extremely complex and full of imagery and metaphors. Personally I have heard this song over 100 times and have seen it performed live. The first time I heard it in Italian with a translation, I was unable to both focus on the music and the lyrics at the same time. I tend to listen to songs with just the music and maybe the words the first time through, without listening for the meaning. The second time through with more focus on the lyrics, but still with this song it took several listens to really understand and appreciate this masterpiece. This guy got pretty into the music and the lyrics. It would not be possible for me to do anywhere near as well as he did with just one listen.

The song was written by Damiano David, inspired by the figure of Giorgia Soleri. Coraline tells the difficult path of a girl to adulthood, between anxiety and self-destruction, while a knight tries to save her from her pain.

Hi! The combination of the background of this song and also of this awsome performance and what that meant to Maneskin (but especially to Damiano the singer), makes this one the most heartbreaking rock ballad I have ever heard (and saw) in my life! As far as the actual song goes, for me only Marillion can compete. (A few old songs). But that's not visual, just acoustic. For me Maneskin is a phenomenon.

@Nuclear Reactions The story is about his girlfriend, Giorgia Soleri. I will explain some lines of the lyrics that I consider important for a better understanding of the story and that make the lyrics even more beautiful, even poetic and interesting, but also sadder. When he says "Coraline doesn't want to eat" and "She can't even get out of a poor door", he is referring to her health problems, she has several diseases such as endometriosis, vulvodynia and fibromyalgia, disabling diseases in which she often doesn't even can get out of bed with the pain. When he says "Who takes the pain of others and then she brings it inside her", he is referring to her activism, with pacific and silent protests, events and even law creation projects to give visibility to the victims of these diseases that are often ignored and taken as exaggeration, drama and madness of women. When he says "Coraline, as beautiful as the sun", he is playing with her name, because the last name Soleri, "sole" is sun. When he says "She lost the fruit of her womb", he is referring to the miscarriage she had due to endometriosis. And finally, when he says "But a father that isn't father-like at all told her : “in the city there's a castle with walls so strong that if you go live inside it nothing will ever hurt you again", he refers to her bad relationship with her father and the reference to the castle with the strong walls, he refers to Italian cemeteries built like castles, which you can find on google by searching "italian castle cemetery", so supposedly, her father would have given her said that to take away her pain just by dying.

Bieng a child of the 70s & 80s, and a true fan of this band, I can state for sure that CORALINE is a TRUE rock ballad! Also, the "impenetrable walls" speaks of a walled cemetery because at the end, she has lost a child to miscarriage with NO indication of whom she got pregnant by, and you cringe thinking the "bad father" could have meant she may have been raped by her own father. And this man trying to help her ultimate failed and then she was gone. Tragic really. Great song regardless. Rock on, Aszneth
