80s child here and let me tell you that this was the best decade for being a child and teenager. This was every town in America back then when the internet/social media did not exist. This was my life at one point with a teenage brother sporting an Appetite for Destruction, Iron Maiden, Van Halen or Metallica T-shirt. He had the BMX bike and I had the ET Big Wheel. The summertime was never ending, the sun shined a lot brighter and 5 cent Now & Laters took out a few teeth. I’ll never forget the day when I walked into the house to find the tv on…a countdown began, a moon-man appeared and this channel called MTV was introduced right before my eyes. I was in awe. I’ll never forget that moment. MTV, the HBO intro (look it up), Fraggle Rocks, Apple IIe, the 85/86 Chicago Bears, jelly shoes/bracelets, Garbage Pail Kids, Banana seat bikes, BMX bikes, big wheels, Hulk Hogan, Randy Savage, Sat morning cartoons, cereal with prizes inside…I’d take all that over any iPhone/Internet/Social media that plagues the world now. 80s generation, the last generation to know life before/after the Internet and all else to come with it. Perhaps, this is why us 80’s kids loved that time so much. Perhaps this is why later gens are watching this with admiration of a world they will never know. Keep life real people. Live it 80’s style. Take a walk, talk to the locals, buy from a locally owned store, buy a record, get a mullet, ride a bike and appreciate the small things. 2024 now and wow… “the sun is the same in a relative way but your older, shorter of breath…one day closer to death” Pink Floyd 🤙🏻

BTW, this video is 99% more entertaining than most of the stuff on KZfaq because it's not scripted. Raw and authentic. Good stuff! I had a lot of those same albums they were showing. The quality resembling of 1080p is so surreal to see of that time... People are already grown up to feel nostalgic about lowquality early KZfaq videos of 240p treating them like relics but seeing late 80s and 90s in HD is just beyond words.

I turned 13 in 1989…and everything that could happen that summer happened, and it was a magical time. That summer changed my life forever, and is part of what made me who I am today. It was an absolutely great time to be alive. Kids today will never know how bad they actually have it now. Edit: I had a cassette tape of that Dr. Feelgood Motley Crue album…I got it through a Columbia House subscription for a penny. And that’s SO 1989. 😂🤣😂

When change was exactly valuable, metal was cool, people were happier, people actually made sense when they spoke, wish i could've lived in that time. I know there were negatives of course, but even so i wish i could've been alive then. I feel like I was born in the wrong generation sometimes, but i do love video games so that is one thing i would miss.

Man, I was 2 years old when this was filmed. I'm glad my town has a big music store so I can still experience this kind of thing, a lot of people won't ever get that chance. Flipping through vinyl records and CDs is way more satisfying than scrolling through Spotify.

I love the way he casually tosses his records on the bed. People these days keep them in shrink wrap, wear gloves to handle them, spend 15 minutes giving them a "deep clean" before they listen to them, then go online and talk about the "surface noise" they produce.
