Yeah I am a Metallica fan and I think their first five albums are their best but I really liked load and reload. I went and saw them in concert a couple times between 1996 in 1998. Them and Pantera are the 2 best Metal bands I ever saw live .

@savingcpr54503 жыл бұрын
I like where the creativity came from, but the hate (for me) is all the excess makeup, piercings, and the short hair. On St. Anger, the music itself isn’t popular but it’s James’s first time back in the studio and it’s about his emotions
@bigtinymanowarrior73303 жыл бұрын
@@savingcpr5450 I agree not so much the short hair because Jason had his hair buzzed in 1993 and James had an awful mullet in 1995 lol but it was the image. Cuban cigars, eyeliner makeup and pimp suits. That's not the Metallica we all know. But the music was solid and very creative. As for St. Anger that was a band that went thru hell for 3 years and was desperately trying to reform and it was a big moment to see them achieve it and I do love the drop C tuning on the guitars. No solos and the music wasn't that great but ut was heavy and the return of Metallica.

It pisses me off when people jump on the ‘Metallica were shit after The Black Album’ wagon. This is a fantastic song and could fit easily into the black album with no issues. How can anyone like The Black Album but not songs like this?
@xendava72174 жыл бұрын
Your point is well taken friend. But as one that has been all about Metallica since the beginning, let me just say that as time rolls along load and reload are albums that are aging quite well. They will get there due in the long run for the reasons you said. This is a great song and both albums are packed with greatness. The loyalty some fans have to pre Black work is due to the fact that back then Metallica wasn't what they are in this clip. In this clip they are the mighty Metallica. The metal band that is at the AMAs. Winning MTV awards. The whole thing. They were the biggest band in the world in most aspects. Friend, they didn't start out that way. They were not on tv. They made no videos. They were not winning awards. Only metal heads really knew what Metallica was and how great they were. It was like they belonged to the metal movement. They backlash post Black records recieved was based more than anything on the fact that Metallica blew up and became a huge international sensation. They were no longer just a metal band representing that particular genre. That's why so many have a problem with this era Metallica. But don't worry friend,those voices are getting weaker and weaker as time goes on. What you said about this music WILL become the prevailing thought as it relates to post Black Metallica.

@@xendava7217 Well today Metallica are pretty much the only Heavy Metal which keeps Metal on the screen. Except minor few they are the only Legends we have left. We all know Ozzy's time is coming soon. So... who's left? Most of us Fans within the metal community are living in the past, which has the effect that our beloved genre is slowly dying.
@xendava72174 жыл бұрын
@@milkysponge3318 ....I do hear what you are saying friend. Let me see if I can't cheer you up a bit. Friend, metal by it's very nature is a genre of music that SHOILD be anti mainstream. It should be something that people like you and me love, but leaves a bad taste in the mouths of the masses. It is then when the best metal is made. When the music you and I love is at it's best. What looks like a slow death is actually a long overdue correction in the genre. Like you, I love Metallica. They are the band that forced the masses to honestly look at metal and realize that this is not just noise. That this is a legit form of musical expression that does what all forms of music can do. Make one feel. Even the most staunch metal hater when they hear the piece Master of Puppets cant deny it's musical majesty. Its musical genius is undeniable. So don't feel so bad friend. When we crank it up as loud as it can go, its supposed to turn people off. That's a good thing friend. It really is. 🤟

Best performance of this song. The sound mix is amazing, Kirk solo was right there, Jason bass loud and clear. Amazing stuff. Love Robert, but Jason's charisma, vocals and stage presence is Unmatched.

I love STP, but putting them in the same category as Metallica and calling "Lady Picture Show" "Hard Rock" is absurd.

I like standard temperature and pressure too... and yes it is weird to put them in the same category as metallica I cant believe they would do such a thing smh

I don't mean to sound like one of them "I'm so old but I prefer this music" comments but I wasn't even born when this was televised, yet I still love Metallica. I find that amazing :L
