I like that tuning. Down a whole step like "Sad But True". My favorite Metallica song. Great lesson. Tuning as they did is the most important part if you want the same exact sound.

Hey Tim, I’ve watched several videos on this song and yours is by far the best. I recently watched an interview with Kirk Hammett and he claimed that they tuned this to see C Sharp. Is there any chance that is correct or maybe Kirk was mistaken? I don’t know just wondering not that it matters, but I just thought I’d throw that out there you rock thanks man

Interview with hammett he said its tuned in c shsrp on the album. He said its still his favorite riff "simple but effective "

You provide the best tutorials. Can you tell us how to get that tone? Are you using an amp with pedals or going thru a computer?

Thank you! I am using a computer. I added a real wah pedal in the front though. The amp sim that I'm using in this video is Blacksun made by Audio Assault.
