Great observation. This was the pure joy of the metal -- pure and unfiltered. No security goons between audience and band. The good old days. You don't know it when you see it. And that's true of life.

Whiplash is a relatively common injury that occurs to a person's neck following a sudden acceleration-deceleration force that causes unrestrained, rapid forward and backward movement of the head and neck, most commonly from motor vehicle accidents. The term "whiplash" was first used in 1928. The term "railway spine" was used to describe a similar condition that was common in persons involved in train accidents prior to 1928. The term "whiplash injury" describes damage to both the bone structures and soft tissues, while "whiplash associated disorders" describes a more severe and chronic condition.

I have whiplash related injuries now, like arthritis and bones spurs and slipped discs. Do your shoulder and core strengthening my dudes! It helps to balance out the stress on your neck. Take it easy with the repetitive headbanging, don't do stage dives and try not to get in motorcycle and car crashes. Protect your spines and bones, I started having trouble before I was 20 and I'm in constant pain now. Not to be a drag, just sayin'.

Is it me, or does James sound British here? "Wheeplash!"

@@Shydood actaully 'whIp-lAsh' in BBC English, but Venom were from Newcastle-Upon-Tyne, a ''Geordie' accent...Sabbath form Birmingahm, a 'brum' accent, Discharge from Stoke on Trent, 'stokie' accent, Maiden from east London...lots of different regional dialects here.

Few people know James studied for some time at Eton. His life took a major turn when he devoted himself to playing metal music and binge drinking in Califorrnia.

Still my favorite live performance of Whiplash, that fucking bass intro man, that to me is why Metallica in 1983-86 had three guitarists, two leads, on rhythm.

+TheCorrectViews An amazing solo indeed, his early performances were very good. It's unfortunate that in the last 15 years he became really sloppy.

I used to think as you do but I have found that often the sound system is the blame, too. If he is not loud enough and over hammers it is not as fluid. KorsAir1987

0:13 Camera Guy 1: Hey, uhh, maybe we should, uhh, focus on the guy playing one of the most epic bass solos of all time on the left? Camera Guy 2: WHAT ARE YOU FUCKING CRAZY!?! For the love god and all things holy, zoom in on James and Kirk doing absolutely NOTHING!!!

James and Lars struck gold when they discovered Cliff,they knew he was just what they needed to make this band go somewhere.
@jackattack177 жыл бұрын
Seriously one of the most epic bass solos I've ever heard. And what are the cameramen focusing on: James and Kirk playing the same chords repeatedly. Sadly this was a time when the singer and/or guitarist were usually the main focus of the band. Happy Birthday Cliff!!!
