Hi, no you do not need to have spindle adapters however the advantage of having the spindle adapters is that you will have more space from the side of the machine to be able to move around and be able to polish larger items. Hope this helps.

+jason long Please forgive my attempt at light hearted humour(I couldn't resist it). But what I am trying to say is, if you dress a fool in all the regulation safety gear and let him operate man-mangling-machinery then it is almost inevitable that he will suffer some permanent physical alteration. Likewise if you have a professional time served operator doing the same task, then he will be able to perform that task until he dies of old age. Is it the safety gear that makes us safe or our operating practices, experience and skill? Personally, I wear all the gear that I need to in a given task.

Trust me, if it wasn't for American Government regulation, Id have a successful growing business in the auto restoration field. I understand the reason for safety gear but I think I can determine the level of safety for the job.
