Welcome to another episode of From Pixels to Plastic, the show all about our favorite video game characters turned action figures! In today's episode, Pixel Dan takes a look at another sweet Japanese import action figure from the Good Smile Company! It's the newly released Samus Aran Figma from Metroid: Other M.
Metroid is a game franchise that really hasn't received the action figure treatment much, but thankfully we now have an amazing Samus action figure! Tune in to check it out!

Dan, you realize that all you have to do to store your "loose" accessories is go to Wal-Mart, Target, Home Depot, Lowes, Hobby Lobby, etc. and buy a little storage case for hardware or perhaps the little sewing kit cases. I've got a bunch of those suckers which store, very nicely, all my unused accessories. They're also nice to store GI Joes, Micromen or various smaller action figures that aren't on display but that I may want to play with from time to time. Get 'em if you haven't already :)

Samus in her powersuit is a very good choice for a Figma figure due to the fact that her joints are hidden naturally by her armor. In fact, she might be the best Figma figure I've ever seen.

Samus is an awsome figure and a very sweet first taste of Figma for me, really hope Good Smile gives us Figmas of the entire Smash Bros. cast

you can preorder it now on places like bigbadtoystore or amazon for $50 the reason it was so high before was because american distributors couldn't get a hold of them and japan stopped making them because of issues with nintendo. Those issues have now been ironed out and they're getting an official american release. Also some comic stores that have those "previews" magazines you may see can sometimes order stuff like this.

I love samus so much... I own this figure, and it is AMAZING!!! it is so fun to play with, but i'm having a hard time finding cool game poses.

Pixel Dan, you should do the Play Arts Kai Halo 4 line, it is basically Master Chief, two red and blue Spartans, and Commander Palmer. I'd love to see you review a Halo toy line, especially from Play Arts Kai.

i love GSC, awesome figures. and I really wanna get samus from GSC sometime in the future base price for figmas: 30 USD base price for figmas that are rly popular and in demand: 50-60 these are Affordable in today's world whether or not you have the money for it. never underestimate the market for figures. cuz ull cry when you don't get them fast and preordered. cuz i been there....

i was just checking figure prices and man idk if the prices are huge af or if our country is that bad financially. I mean we have small paychecks compared to germany but still why are figures so expensive :S

I tend to distrust ebay myself. way too easy to get a bootleg. Especially since $30 seems way too good to be true. Though getting it from a credited site like amazon, amiami, or bigbadtoystore doesn't cost much more at around $50

That was truly one of my favorite games when I was a kid!!!! And I'll never forget the end when samus takes off the helmet to reveal he is actually a SHE. I must by that figure!!!

We probably haven't seen Samus very much because it's a female character, and in this country female characters "get the short end of the stick", generally, when it comes to being produced as action figures. This Samus is a Japanese fig, I believe. The Japanese, for a very patriarchal society, don't seem to have many hang-ups producing female figs like the U.S. does, which is a bit ironic.

the japanese dont catter their toyline to childern. that being said they produce very high qulity figures. which is why these imports r expensive even in japan. got mine for 50 USD shipped

Max Factory is the company that makes/owns Figma figures, Good Smile is only the distributor.. so you should say Figma figures are from Max Factory not Good Smile

No offense, but the way you're able to pronounce "Samus Aran" kinda bothers me, since I prefer to pronounce her name as "Sam-us A-rah-n" instead of "Sah-mus A-ran" like you just did in this video.
