It's interesting to me how the Irish were oppressed in usa back then because they were the majority of immigrants at the time just how we are the majority today in usa. Wrong. Most of them were born in Ireland and came to America as adults. They were coerced into joining the army and defected to the Mexican side when they witnessed the oppression their fellow catholics were being subjected to by the American forces. Be quiet.

Love from San Francisco and the son of an Irish immigrant. Mexicans and Irish are brothers and sisters. I am very proud of the San Patricios. They fought bravely with honor defending Mexico from the same Anglo imperialism that invaded and is still occupying Ireland. El amor de San Francisco y el hijo de un inmigrante irlandés. Salvador Moran, is it correct to trace a lastname to a county in Ireland? My paternal granpa's mom's name, Scanlan, traced it to County Louth/Lough, just inside the border of Ireland, next to Ulster.

Este concierto, se da regularmente en el ex convento de Churubusco, lugar donde se llevo a cabo la épica batalla contra el ejercito de los Estados Unidos en 1847, esta batalla, si no es por la falta de parque o municiones, otro hubiera sido el resultado para el ejercito mexicano, ahí es donde fueron hechos prisioneros los integrantes del Heroico Batallón de San Patricio que ya hacia unas semanas venían luchando junto con los mexicanos. El Batallón, al mando del oficial John O´Reily, habían desertado después de la Batalla de la Angostura, en territorio cercano a Monterrey y Saltillo.

Somos el único grupo humanitario voluntario con base en Arizona que se enfoca en migrantes perdidos y desaparecidos. ¡Viva el Batallón de San Patricio! I started the Battalion Search and Rescue in 2020 in part to honor John Riley and the Saint Patrick's Battalion. Existen muchas teoría acerca del uso y aparición del Kilt. Una de ellas es la evolución de una manta para dormir al aire libre (como el sarape). Contrario a las creencias populares, los escoceses no usaban Kilts sino pantalones. Estos se empezaron a usar en el siglo 16 pero se convirtieron en una moda en el siglo 18. Ese es uno de los anacronismos de la película "Corazón Valiente"

This is so beautiful. Does anyone know the name of the tune and chant that starts at 37 seconds into the video? I fondly remember hearing it many times traveling in Europe. This video is enlightening that there is Irish heritage in Mexico and other countries aside from the US.

The song is named "Cielito Lindo" from Quirino Mendoza y Cortés. It's a very tipical mexican song.
