Hint: Spread the refried beans on each tortilla before placing it in the baking dish. It’s easier, and you can control where the beans go.

A recipe is a always suggestion and you do what you like to make it your own according to spices onions seasonings and who is eating it. You don't know what I would do for them and the children by the way are 15 thru 18 years. So have a blessed rest of the day and peace be with you.

This looks way better than anything I've ever seen at Taco Bell Catherine!😍 You used 8 halves of tortillas on each layer which is 4 per layer x 3 layers making a total of 12 tortillas for the whole dish. I'm a number person so of course I was counting!😋 I've always found your Taco Bell recipes more enticing than theirs!😘 I would add some sour cream and guac to mine!😚 Thanks for sharing another great recipe!🥰

This makes me hungry for some Mexican food -looks good. I’ve done this in the past in my crock pot. The medium tortillas fit perfectly into the 6qt. size. I call it Mexican lasagna and do 6 layers of tortillas w/refried beans, salsa, ground beef and cheese in between different layers. Doing it in the crock pot w/a liner is perfect for me being a “lazy” cook sometimes.😄 No matter what it’s called it is delicious. Thanks for sharing.

I’ve made your original recipe and it was a big hit with my husband… I’ve been cooking all day.. just put a chocolate cobbler in the oven. I’m hoping it’s delicious because it’s definitely easy.. This looks like another winner. ❤

my grandma would use Taco seasoning she made them to please me when I was a small boy. but I grew accustomed to the meat being plain and selsa being the flavor.

I'm not a lover of refried beans but i do love black beans. I would also skip the refried and add some black beans to the meat. Definitely going to try this one!

I thought you were going to say I live in Texas, it's so hot this summer we just set it out in the sun for fifteen minutes. Looks great but I live in Florida and will give it a try in December.

Oh heck yes! It's 2:30 a. m. 8-14-23 and I can't wait for the waking hrs. I am SURELY making this! Thank you very much. Also, I don't like refried beans, but I found out that if I grind and cook garbanzo beans down,salt,pepper,pinch of butter,(paste!) ,I can substitute and actually I like that. This looks amazingly delicious.

Hi Catherine. That looks so good. I use to work at Taco Bell here where I live back in the late 90's. The mexican pizza was one of my favorite things we made there. THat and the nacho bell grande. I didn't do refried beans either, I alwats added extra meat and cheese. lol

This is so wonderfully easy and looks so tasty! Making it tonight for dinner. It's in the oven now!😋 Smelling delicious... Chopped up about four little fresh jalapenos in the meat mixture... Good way to use garden produce! Hope my fam likes it!!😅

I have been making for years a similar recipe. I layer it in a crockpot with corn tortillas and use green enchiladas sauce. I also layer in a can of nacho cheese sauce. I like the corn because it holds up better in the crockpot. I bring it for kids or work parties that is potluck. It is about 4-6hrs on low since it's just heating thru. I top with tomatoes, green onions and cilantro before serving then have sour cream and guac on the side.
