Hi Catherine. OMGosh, those onions!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Growing up, my mother worked at Woolworths behind their lunch counter. They had the best food. I am definitely going to try this one. Thanks for sharing.

When I was a kid my mom and I ate at Woolworths when we went shopping. It was such a nice treat and the food was always sooo good! Thanks for reminding me! 💜

Oh Catherine!! Thank you for the memory. Why i was a little girl my mom would sometimes sometimes take us to the Harvest House connected to Woolworth in our local mall. It was such a treat. The Patty Melts were so good! Sometimes mom only had enough money to get a piece of pie and drinks. My sister, mom and i would share the piece of pie. Mom always got a cup of coffee and my sister and i a small pop. (Coke) lol.

This looks AWESOME AMAZING ❤ I miss the old days when a person could go to an old Mom's Diner and order a old fashion hamburger melt with root beer float or shake. Not like today's restaurants that are franchise. Everything seems fast food tasting.

That looks wonderful. Back in the 70's and 80's, here in Connecticut, we had Pie Plate restaurants that made the best patty melts!! I miss that place.

Woolworths had the best food! Their seasoned grill could make anything fabulous. Grilled cheese, patty melt, burgers...so happy I'm old enough to remember it.

That looks really good. I made a Greek style pizza on Saturday using the same store bought dough with typical Greek veggies and olives and was wondering "how would Catherine make this?" and here you are making this one. Something yummy for these cold winter evenings ☺️! Looks absolutely luscious 🌸. I remember, as a kid, eating lunch downtown on Saturdays at Woolworths. They had the best tasting hotdogs....they grilled the hotdog and also the sides of the hotdog bun! I make them like that today from time to time ☺️. Great memories💕 from being a kid growing up in Iowa ☺️🌸

Hey Catherine 🎉. Pattie melts are not a favorite, however my sister and Mom loved them. Mom has passed away but my sister and I live together and I think she would totally ❤ this recipe. I love patty melts my mom used to mk them yrs and yrs ago how's everyone including Baily can't tell u how broken hearted I am about losing my buddy.wolf husky 16 yrs my husband trained all our dogs wed 47yrs he was a Vietnam vet dog trainer miss them both freedom isn't free he paid the price for all of us
