To assume that the totality of the book's content is represented on that cover and dismiss the notion that there is any additional depth to the book would not lead to the most constructive experience of it.

@@shaunm5233 but a cover can give insight into the book and is part of the reason people would pick up a book. "Hey i like this art, it seems interesting and symbolic." It also usually represents the theme of the book. If it takes a darker tone then you may have someone crying on the cover, so someone interested in those types of books would be drawn to it. So yes, covers are meant to be judged to attract the things its meant for.

+Kenneth Wright - It all has to do with the different laws of the Old Testament that Jesus Christ (Yeshua)’s sacrifice on the cross did away with. Jesus Christ’s sacrifice on the cross ended the ceremonial laws. However, the sacrifice did not end the moral laws. The history is interesting.

@Aerial Firstly, it would help if you soften your tone. Secondly, your argument isn't very well thought out. It doesn't take into account that a joke might just be a joke and not political propaganda. And lastly, just because someone says that a person might be high or drunk, that doesn't mean that it has to do with racism/their skin colour. Perhaps you're the racist one for thinking that way? The comedian sounds like he's "completely out of it" (perhaps high or drunk). It has nothing to do with him being black.

I've seen so many races and cultures that like chicken that when I first found out that it was a black stereotype (I'm European) I genuinely thought it was a bad joke because it sounded so ridiculous enough to be a poorly thought through joke. To me it's like saying "it's a stereotype that American white men likes steak." Like yeah they do.. but so do other people?

@@mickydidymus He didn't steal it and if that's your first thought, you got issues to work on. A LOT of comedians do the deadpan delivery, and I assume it's because that's what comes naturally to them, if a stand up comedian tries to hard or fake a personality on stage they wouldn't be very successful.

I love him but I’d love to hear a stand up about Egypt/North Africa that’s accurate. Most women in Egypt don’t cover their hair. Turbans are worn by Indians. And you can 100% get bacon delivered to your house/hotel in private in Egypt. I lived there for 3 years.

I guess I just don't think that being completely pinpoint accurate on some of the details is necessary. Wait - necessary yes, just not important if the details are slightly fudged. But in all honesty, I noticed the turban comment too.

@@Denada1350 I understand that. But the number of people who absorb this information and take it seriously AFTER the standup is finished is harmful. I’m middle eastern and if I were to joke about African Americans and say something completely inaccurate I’d be corrected too. If you don’t know a culture that’s not even yours well, maybe you shouldn’t be making jokes about them to begin with.
