Her argument was ''no one is owed a living wage'' and she thought companies had the right to decide what pay they thought was fair, and that poverty was the result of minimum wages existing. No, I have no idea how that actually worked out in her head. She also never worked for a wage a day in her life of course, being a ''red pill'' woman... but yes, these people apparently do exist!

Of course people want to work for a living. That is why there should be a decent wage no matter the job, so you are incentivised to work. The state should be a safety net for the people of the nation. If they fall the state should catch them and keep them on their feet, untill they can stand on their own. And one important tool to make sure they don't fall is to make sure they are paid decently. A worker who is constantly struggeling to make ends meet, will never be able to build up decent savings to keep them afloat when misfortune strikes.

Sometimes I wonder if the united states is still part of the world we live in ever since Trump was elected....

You know, Ivanka, what if, say, we lived in a world where the air is so filthy and so difficult to maintain, that it actually starts costing you to breath it. And every single day you have to work to not only sustain enough to afford food, water, heating, housing, insurance but also so that you can continue breathing. Does that sound like an ideal and healthy world to live in because you have to work to continue being able to perform a fundamental task of staying alive that your body does all the time without you even noticing? Now obviously the green new deal isn't on quite the same level of extremity as that, but it offers a way to help save the planet, and by extension, the human race. I don't care how many people you've met who said they'd rather work for their livings. Even if you somehow met every person on the planet and they all said that like some sort of hive-mind, there are some things that you just have to take, regardless of price or not. I do however respect how you acknowledge how people wish to earn their fruits so that they feel all the more rewarding. Zeal is after all a very nice asset towards a working society. But the green new deal shouldn't be about pride or feeling accomplished, it should be about efficiency and making sure that in the future we have an actual planet to live on. Plus won't the green new deal require work anyway?
