Michael Dunn was probably best known for his role as Dr Loveless on the television series The Wild Wild West but you may have seen him in other movies or shows as well. He made appearances on Star Trek and Bonanza and was even nominated for an Oscar for his performance in the movie Ship of Fools starring Lee Marvin and Vivien Leigh. In this video we will visit Michael Dunn's grave and tell his story.

Very interesting video Rhetty, I never would have imagined Michael Dunn's connection to Oklahoma. Plato's Children is one of my favorite episodes of the original Star Trek TV series. I had a shop teacher in Junior High ( Mr. Guthrie at Skelly Jr. High in Tulsa), that was a big influence on me.I started teaching engineering technology much because of him. I think we all have had teachers that have changed our lives for the better. You gave Coach Hogan a nice tribute.

Very nice episode. I thoroughly enjoyed this. This is the same cemetery that my cousin Kenny Paul Jerome is buried there somewhere. He had the auto shop across from Moore High School. That little man made the most of his life for sure. It's amazing to me how some people with a disability work ten times harder to succeed and do something with themselves. I really admire folks like that. I remember him especially from that Star Trek episode. I think that was the same episode that had the first inter-racial kiss on TV where the unruly gods forced Kirk and Uhara to kiss. I remember quite well when Mr. Hogan died. The whole school was in shock. My daughter was in high school there at the time and she was close to him. She was in poor health and had issues with math because of her condition that resulted from a prolonged oxygen deprivation during a surgery she had. I suppose he helped her with her math and understood what she was going through. She insisted on going to his service and I had to talk to the principal at the time and tell him that I approved her absence to attend. She was a spunky thing. lol We lost her in 2016.

I am sorry for the loss of your daughter. I can assure you that if she knew Coach Hogan he cared for her. If he wasn't helping some kid in between classes then he was outside his class greeting them as they passed even if he did not have them in class. I used to have a locker outside of is classroom so I witnessed that many times. He was always there to help or just listen. I can imagine how this would be extremely difficult for anyone that had him. He was a rare teacher and coach to say the least. I remember you telling me about your Cousin and his shop. This was a nice cemetery to visit. I may have to go back some time and wander thru some of the other areas. Thank you for watching and sharing a little more..

I grew up watching him on the Wild Wild West as well as several other shows and always loved him. Bless his heart. Back in that time (and before) alot of people with dwarfism would find jobs in the circus and traveling fairs. I'm so glad he truly used his talents and didn't just settle for a job such as that. Rest in peace, and also to be the Coach. He sounded like such a wonderful Man. *Rhett, just a little tidbit I remember reading a few years back, Red Foxx who was on Sanford and Son always had that schtick where he would clutch his chest and say "Elizabeth, I'm coming to join ya" Well, one day while on a set he clutched his chest, fell to the ground, and they thought it was an act and it wasn't. So when you mentioned that about your Coach, I thought of Sanford....
