If he feels the need to take pain killers, then he can take them. It's not the interviewer's business, I don't like that judgemental tone and phrasing. Ugh. And it's not hard to see that he suffered from pain when he says "My mouth hurts".

I don't blame him for taking a pain killer for his mouth. Tooth aches can be really painful. My wisdom tooth was hurting one time and it felt like I was going to pass out. Did the interviewer really expect him to sit there in pain the whole time? The interviewer is a jerk.

He took a pain medication because he had oral surgery. He said so and It's obvious the way his left cheek is swollen. That's what the dentist ask you to take after dental surgery. Duh. This deposition was 3 hr +. Michael sat patiently through the whole damn thing and complained only once about his mouth hurting.

When he says "my mouth hurts" it really sounds like a small kid. I honestly think that this man was probably one of the purest souls in the world. But because that's against the norm, everyone turned against him to the point of destroying him. It's so sad seeing things like this. It makes me wanna hug him.

I hate how they’re making him out to be a drug addict for having to stop on the middle of an interview to take a painkiller, Michael had just had oral surgery and was kind enough to still agree to go to the interview knowing he would be in pain. Michael was human, he also had pains and took prescribed drugs to stop pains like any other human being would, why does everyone make him out to be this drug addict popstar that is completely perfect and not like any other human being?

Sounds like this comes from an Aussie interview? Why are they making it seem like Michael was addicted to pain killers in front of their eyes at that second? Yes, even us fans don't deny the drug use but it seems here that Michael was just merely taking a simple aspirin after being at the dentist. Get over it!

And i believe it's because of the mouth ulcers that he had to stop touring and get some rest in London. I do NOT believe it was for rehabilitation to a drug addiction, but his Lupus (mouth ulcers are common with Lupus).

Yes, he had a dependency on painkillers at the time and this was just days before Michael went to rehab. But he wasn't taking them to get high. He took them because he was dealing with serious pain from reconstructive surgery on his scalp that year and then dealt with emotional pain on top of that from the allegations. Mix that with not being able to sleep after his concerts and years of stress on his joints from dancing- it's no wonder he became addicted. And they fail to mention in this news report that he took medication here because he just had oral surgery. You can see his mouth was swollen so of course he needed to take something.

Mate prior to the deposition he He removed his wisdom teeth. I didn't know taking pain medications for that is considered as addicted to pain meds. So ridiculous I swear the effort to tear someone down is beyond me.
