@@petesmith2527 no vitiligo wasn't and isn't a skin cancer risk. He had vitiligo and was very insecure about it. It's not like now where there's vitiligo models and ppl embracing it. It was new then, that's why ppl didn't believe him. They were like wtf is vitiligo, what is this skin disease? So in order to "treat" vitiligo, u can have a surgery that removes pigments of skin, so u no longer have spots. Thus lightening ur skin

@@Bobby_T_ I'm trying to pinpoint what he had done in 1991 right before the release of dangerous because you see him in March of that year at the Oscars with Madonna he still looks like the bad era Michael Jackson and then a fast forward to about October November during the Black or White video shoot and he looks noticeably different that look he had throughout the 1990s I think changes after that were mainly health issues
@Bobby_T_
@Bobby_T_ Жыл бұрын
@@nathanlopez5667 I think it’s mainly because at some point in late 1991 his vitiligo treatment (which evens out all the skin to a lighter skin tone) seemed to transition from his torso to his arms and face. That’s why as it progressed he started wearing outfits covering his entire body from his feet to his neck at this time like in the Remember the Time video. So he wasn’t using lighter makeup on his to cover his original complexion anymore, he was using light makeup to just even out his now naturally lighter, vitiligo affected skin on his face. Before the dangerous era he usually wore much more makeup on his face and would leave his scalp and ears and neck almost untouched, which kind of made the shape of his face and head look different
@nathanlopez5667
@nathanlopez5667 Жыл бұрын
@@Bobby_T_ also 1986 to about mid91 he was experimenting with different shades of makeup sometimes he looked lighter and then sometimes darker it just depended but that was all because of the Vitiligo of course it seems the first time he let it all hang out was the in the closet music video in 1992 because everything was pretty much evened out by then

People always make such a huge deal about him changing his nose as though it was totally racially motivated. I'm not saying that mightn't have been a factor since his Dad allegedly would remark on his "black nose" that he didn't get "from my side of the family", along with I'm sure the pressures of being black in an industry that is not only insanely superficial but one that glorifies European beauty standards. However I'm of Italian decent and nose jobs are not uncommon to those of us who have since been living in the West through our ancestors migration. Ethnic Jews, Middle Easterns and honestly a lot of whites in general who have larger noses or ones with a 'hook' that can be ethnically common among some of the groups I've mentioned, may be incentivised to get one since these shapes are not considered attractive. If done correctly, they do make you look more appeasing to the eye because your other features become more prominent and facial beauty is largely about the right balance and symmetry.. So, perhaps generally there is an ethnic component, but I also know a lot of Italians with very small upturned noses, and more to the point of Michael, black people have a plethora of ethnic features...they're not some monolith, and many have small noses with defined tips. It really depends on ones ancestry and genetics. Point being, there are countless whites in Hollywood that have had nose jobs, but no one accuses Blake Lively of trying to be 'more white' because she had hers done. Michael both suited his natural nose and also the one he had around the Thriller/Bad period. It was the initial one he had done that they didn't do properly (even still there are many surgeons who treat black people under a white model when there are differences in factors like thickness of skin and how to consider ethnicity in the sculpting of the new nose) and I understand why he continued to work on it up until Thriller, to me that was his best look. The continuation to me was in part perfectionism and body dysmorphia gone unchecked, and I have always had the intuition that Doctors intentionally 'messed with' his face particularly in the later years. We also have no idea how many ideas were put into Michael's head. LaToya actually said it was his surgeon who recommended he get the shin dimple because it would make him look more masculine. So not only did he plant that idea in Michael's head, but the media and general public accused him of wanting to look more like a woman as a means to degrade him. That was obviously never his intention. He never changed his hair colour, he never put in contacts, and a lot of the changes were exaggerated with make up which I'm sure was also a part of him feeling comfortable behind a mask. Michael was very vocal about how proud he was to be black, he even once said he thought the most beautiful people were East Indians and that "the darker the more beautiful".

@@belladonna5904, “ _Black or White_ ” was neither about Michael Jackson, _himself,_ his changing looks, nor about his physical body. The song plainly dealt with the serious issue of _racism_ in general, which he was obviously _against._ Listen to the _content_ of the song’s lyrics. They cover everything from interracial dating to not being afraid of hate groups/organizations. Even the “ _Rap_ ”/“ _Hip-Hop_ ” segment of the song emphasizes his views concerning racism....“ _I’m_ NOT _going to spend my life being a color._ ” This means, in _my_ honest opinion, that Michael wasn’t going to let everything _in_ his life (nor every aspect _OF_ his life, for that matter) be solely defined _BY_ his race/ethnicity and his outward physical “African-ness”/“Blackness” in and of itself alone, but by the kind of _HUMAN BEING_ he was on the inside, _by his character as a person,_ rather than by what he looked like.

He looked his best in my opinion at this stage… Although, not with the lightened skin... but, since no one knew he had vitiligo… It was getting harder for him to cover up all the white, than to cover up the small dark spots that were left. When he finally told the truth… People didn't even believe him. Can you imagine being filmed every waking moment of the day and night?! I mean - sometimes you just wanna pick your nose .

I wish he wouldn't have done anything at all. I can understand the nose job. I think most of them got a nose job. I'll say he looked his best around 1981. It was documented that he had vitiligo. If that was the case, he looked great around 87. You can tell he has that thing put in his chin around 88-89. MJ was a handsome dude.
