Welcome to SC4K, a restoration of undeniably one of, if not THE greatest music video of all time. Whilst yes, other restorations and copies may be sharper, and may be in a slicker frame rate, and may have different colours, but presented here is a truly unique version we have worked on for the past few weeks, maybe a month. This version restores the classic short film back to it's open matte aspect ratio, features exclusive remastered/reworked audio mixed straight from the multitracks, remastered colours, and brand new special effects! We hope you enjoy!

Well yes! If you watch any behind the scenes of his "music videos" you would see that calling them videos is taboo. Michael calls them short films and prefers everyone else to call them that too. They are masterpieces!

@@Raine_Raine - Yes, indeed! My favourite is "Remember the Time" followed closely by MJ's "Ghosts" movie (33 min version). The music movie that makes me laugh the hardest is "Speed Demon" because of the claymation & live action in it. Michael is a genius for sure!

I was not a Michael Jackson fan, but when Smooth Criminal came out, i couldn't stop watching. Dancing, costumes, make-up and story telling is superb. Everyone brought their best when this was filmed. Some of the best dance in human history.

Incredibly, some of his live shows showed case his real skills. The man sure used to put a LOT of time in to making his music more than just a song, it was an experience. Also, a lot of his music was very uplifting and had great messaging. I liked his music, but it's all kind of hard for me to separate the man from the allegations. zoinks.

Me toooo. Unrelated but i'm a huge Prince fan as well and I don't think Prince ever captured something that electric in a video. That kind of pure tension release and explosion of just badassness. I think the comparisons are done when we think of moments like this

The Choreography alone in this video must have been crazy. I wasn't crazy myself, but I was a fan of his music. He was a visionary, well ahead of his time. May he Rest in Peace. I thank you for making this, and preserving his musical, and dance history. Fantastic job. Update; Thanks much for the likes. This was my first, or second favorite song of his. Hands down.

Holy F******* this is INCREDIBLE!!!! I have been watching / listening to this short film for over 30+ years and this is the most cleanest, sharpest …. I just dont even have the words. The audio alone!!!!!!! I love how outdoors sounds like outdoors. The added touch of crickets - genius. How the music sounds as if you were listening from outside in… The extra added vocals on MJ were masterfully executed and placed in the right places (Thank you). The visuals.. It's a shame that fans makes better job with enhancing MJ's legacy for future generations than Estate is doing. Don't get me wrong, you guys did incredible work but the Estate should be doing it. Just as many other projects. Nevertheless it's wonderful to see that MJ will never die. He truly loved his fans and for sure now he is so proud of them. God bless you guys ✌️

@@ouss4real Film can be scanned into HD and even 4K, my guy. They did it with the entirety of Star Trek and The Next Generation, Friends, Seinfeld, but also movies from Laurel and Hardy, Charlie Chaplin and so on. If it's shot on film, it can be rescanned in HD and beyond. ^_^

Maybe they don't do it yet because of a question of expected profits from the releases or maybe it can be a legal question, purely a question of legal rights. As in the case of The Beatles's video material. There is a lot of filmed material that can be restored to a really exorbitant quality but they have decided not to do it because they can't yet define who owns the rights.

The best section in this song is when the song just blasts to the main riff after a long instrumental break with gospel-like atmosphere. MJ would say that was to capture the whole visceral mood of all the frustrations, angst, tensions of this world and then blasting it out when the song kind of restarts again. Pure brilliance! An extraordinary artist who also created a visual masterpiece.

The ending reminds me of the demo version found in one of his rare and obscure rehearsal videos dated 1986. Not only this video looks stunning in 4K, but you even managed to retain some of the grains in this video, just like some of the 4K rescans of Star Wars I've seen! Add to that the remix of the sound from scratch which makes this look like a massive live rehearsal, impressive work I must say!

The audio alone!!!!!!! I love how outdoors sounds like outdoors. The added touch of crickets - genius. How the music sounds as if you were listening from outside in… The extra added vocals on MJ were masterfully executed and placed in the right places (Thank you). The visuals..
