Schenker is a genius....one of the most melodic guitarists ever

A true genius on guitar right from the early days. His guitar work on the Scorpions album Lonesome Crow as a 16 year old was amazing. He then moved on to UFO where his body of work speaks for itself before a brief return to the Scorpions and on to his solo career with MSG. Just one highlight after another.

If you listen to all different versions of this song, the solos are also different. You always hear a slightly different version of it. That's why it's always exciting to listen to Michael. He is a genius.

This is great because Gary is singing it. He wtote it as a newbie into Michael's world. The intro w/the feedback was the greatest at the Chicago 1996 show. It was crying, screaming brilliance. But this is a classic killer song even if Gary is 50 instead of 20. Michael knows that V And Gibson should be bleeped for not giving him, naming a V after the greatest Flying V player of all time. Mister melody.....Michael Schenker. My last concert was 2004 with Uli Jon Roth opening and Michael closing. It was magic and both were months from turning 50.

Loved the way you summed up his solo. It's funny because that's similar to how I described another Schenker solo and nobody ever really could get what I was trying to say. I think it was in the latter part of the instrumental Into The Arena. Michael is simply the best in my book. For me, the best live solo ever recorded has to be Rock Bottom from Strangers in the Night. Just amazing! 🔥🧨

Always Loved Michael's playing, all the way back to UFO! UFO's live Album, Strangers In The Night, is a classic! Kirk, from Metallica, is a huge Michael fan. Back when That Metal Show was still on (VH1 Classic) Kirk flew across the country to be on the show when Michael was going to be on and they jammed together! There's a video of it here on YT!

MSG \m/ Have you ever listened to Joe Satriani? A guitar god, most of what I've listened to of his is without vocals. Just a musical journey. If you haven't listened to any of Joe's music you could try out Flying In A Blue Dream, studio version. It's the kind of track where I sit back in a dark room, close my eyes and get lost in it. Just depends if you'd like songs with no vocals, if you don't then probably give it a pass. Rock on \m/ (TWA)

Oh, you need to know about Frank Marino. "It's begun to rain-from the Agora Theatre".

For those true fans of Michael this is one of the worst I have ever heard. Seriously. He must've been going through a bad time in his personal life. Look for other versions of this classic song. Though Gary is sounding great here.
