Look carefully: at 3:18 you can see that the battery life only has 3 minutes remaining (top right corner of screen). It's 3:07 p.m., only an hour after Dwight left him. This means that Michael has spent the entirety of the last hour filming himself and rambling into the camera, without the slightest sense of how much battery he is wasting.

I was watching this episode just before midnight the day before my birthday and I swear to god Michael started singing happy birthday as soon as it turned midnight. My gf and I were binge watching too so the chances were like 1 in a million. So crazy. Love the office!
