‘Preciate the review. I have an opportunity to grab a new pair of Cup 2’s at half price (from an individual), but since I do not track my car, I am not sure if I want to buy a replacement pair 3K miles down the road. It was pretty cool how you illustrated how sticky they are, by showing the road debris in the tires. Thanks again for taking the time to give your review.

Thanks for the kind words! The Michelin pilot sport cup 2 are amazing tires but could totally be an overkill depending on the use

Great review. I as well have the newer Cup2 tires and love them. I have 285/35 up front and 325/30 out back. Only about 1500ish miles on them so far, but you can definitely feel the grip. Gives you tons of confidence when driving.

4:40 I use them on my mx5 and i think weight is a huge factor. I have now driven about 5000 miles on them and they still look great also i took mine twice to the track and did about 3 hours non-stop racing them. If managed well they can last along time. But i think on a heavy car with different from ideal pressures they can wear. Also i agree with low temp driving, i use them daily and i live in Holland, and its most of the year just fine. Only when snowing the car is uselss (wide tires + cup2 + low weight mx5 with rwd is hopeless) so when buying these tires i would only use them on or that can be parked when weather gets bad. If it's your only car and you NEED to go to work in extreme weather rather get the ps4(s) they do a bit better in rain and colder temps. But snow is always a issue with summer tires so. Also pricing for a mx5 size tire is about €120/140 a piece. So for all four €550/ or $480 dollars! you can get them in 225/45/17 :) and that's a great deal for a semi slick tire that works well in the rain. In holland we might get max 10 days of snow a year so. I just leave my car and work from home. Great review! Cheers!

Michelin High Performance 4 Sport 275/19ZR40 in the Rear and 255/19ZR40 in the front. I'll drive my GT 5.0 when it is 40 degrees Farenhieght but not in the 30's. Even when it rains and the temperature is in the 40 they drive Grrreat. I have 10,K miles on my 2020 Ford Mustang GT and stick to the interstates.

Thanks for this! Damn man I have a 2019 Mustang GT that came with P4s tires on them. They're not bad but I'm thinking about getting an ESS supercharger and shoot for 730-750 whp so I was wanting a stickier tire to be able to put the power down. After watching this video tho, sheesh idk anymore. Changing car tires every 3-5k miles is essentially changing them every oil change. So instead of spending $60 for just the oil & filter (do it myself of course) it'll be almost ~$970 each oil change. And that's just to replace the rear tires! That's nuts!

I don’t think I’d pick these tires for that much power. Maybe r888 or a slick. These tires are best for corners not straight line. They will spin if you gun it in a straight line.

@@pickygarage Ha funny, actually after I watched your video I watched tons of others who said these tires are crap and they all recommended the Nitto NT555Rii tires because they hooked with that power level. I'll be going with that set! Maybe you should try giving them a shot as well and make another video on your experience with them!

I have a Mach 1 with these tires. In your opinion, how many miles can I get out of them with no track days?

3,000 hard back road miles. If you don’t drive hard 5-7.

@@AutoFilmsandDreams continental DWS is a great all season tire. if you want something more sporty the pilot sport 4s are great road tires. Just not good for snow.

@@pickygarage I was just pointing out how you contradicted yourself while trying to give advise about tires. I have cup2’s on my f80 m3 now. Just replaced PS4’s. It’s been well documented in the past 5 years about the cup2’s performance in the wet and cold weather vs optimum weather conditions. No big reveal here.

He's right. The ps4s are garbage on a track and in the dry are pretty shite too when the power goes up. My rs3 stage 3 spins up with the ps4s and same with my stage 2 GTR. Tried the cup2 and felt like a different car. The hook up is INSANE
