"We know what you did to him," Judge Matthew Kacel said to Shanda Vander Ark, who tortured and murdered her 15-year-old son Timothy. "You intentionally, and systematically tortured this child."

Hopefully she gets some real nice cell mates who shower her with lots of special love and care. They don’t like child abusers/ killers in Prison!! So sorry for all the abuse Timothy had to endure by the hands of this Monster and his brother . No child should ever have to endure what he had to endure .

I just found out myself. I’m going through all the videos that are posted by so many creators on KZfaq. The body cam footage from when they took Timothy away in the ambulance and questioned her and Paul. It’s DISTURBING AND DISGUSTING how she acted! Fake crying, lying through every tooth she has, and making sure her other son, Paul, answers coincided with hers! I can’t imagine what those officers, having to be professional and hide their suspicions, must have gone through once they were told exactly what happened. Especially in this kind of case. No matter what you may think when first on the scene of something like this, you never want to know a mother could do this to their child. I have mad respect for investigators, detectives, first responders, EMTs, officers on regular patrol that get called to something like this first, everyone who has to deal with the trash of our society. UGH! I’m so sorry! I just went on a rant because it’s so fresh to me and I still have very high emotions about this case, even though it’s all said and done at this point, I’m just learning how it all came to light. So I apologize for my reply being so angry. But I wanted to share with you how much I agree and like your comment.🤗

The system allowed what happened to Timothy. The father held for anything, no. Hold the picture and have it represent how many other children with out jury trial, death, etc....suffer in the system.

@@CatnessStrangeYes! I agree with you! They kept him between themselves so no one COULD call the system on them! She didn’t go to extremes, like she made it out like she did, to get him into a school because then someone might notice his physical condition! She wouldn’t even let him take the dog for a walk IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD in case someone noticed him!!!! Made it sound like people could see him in the backyard when Paul blew that out of the water when he testified against her saying he had to make sure he stayed on or near the back porch. And if he didn’t listen, Paul would make him do the ‘chasing punishment’(?) (I think it was called), when he’d chase Timothy up and down the back porch stairs. UGH! I can’t type anymore I’m getting nauseous and extremely mad. 🤢🤮🤬

Timothy did win in the end because he had people hearing his voice from beyond the grave and refusing to allow that voice to remain silent. He won because now he gets to silence the voices of his monsters. It's devastating that we had to learn what happened to this poor child through a medical examiner and investigating detectives instead of hearing him speak with his own words what these monsters did to him. Kudos to the judge and prosecutor for speaking up for the victim when he couldn't do that for himself.

What Timothy went through is so heart-breaking. I've watched every single trial including this one. First I saw a woman who was too busy, entrenched in her job, trying to make ends meet, and making rash decisions because Paul was incompetent of making any on his own. Second I see a very stressed mother, lacking any empathy, guidance (including other family and friends) and also lacking a partner. Now this is going to ruffle some feathers and I really don't mean to steer away from the fact that Timothy deserved a tremendous amount care and love. Women are expected to be natural mothers in society and if they fail in any way, or lack in any area (like the untidy house) they are harshly judged which is why maybe she didn't want to let anyone in on her hectic life. It worries me that more and more cases like this are appearing in the news. Women are having children, are abandoned, they become mentally and emotionally unstable, all the while thinking they are capable of "doing it all" but then turn into robots refusing responsibility. I'm reminded of the studies made on rats, that have shown that if you over populate their habitat, female rats will actually either avoid getting pregnant, or neglect their babies so they cannot survive. This is because the male rat won't fight and kill the other male rats. Women are highly capable, but also need to have the space to have a "sense of self", check in and monitor their mental and emotional well being. Her behaviour as an intelligent human being was malicious, but it leaves me with a lot of questions about how cases like this could be avoided in our societies. Why have many men (not all) become unavailable? In ways that seem small but have a huge impact. They should be capable at helping, and making the right decisions for our women and children.

Wow this is a bunch of nonsensical blabbering. A woman/ biological mother of innocent boy tortured and murdered her own son and you are trying to shift the blame on anyone/everyone else but the bother. You should be ashamed of yourself. I hope you dont have children. The only one at fault is the monster that brutally hurt her own innocent child there is no way excuse . Please stop the mental gymnastics.

Situations like this make me question God. Many people say God is so good. But if God is so good why would he give this sweet boy this kind of mother?. I know people are going to be ticked at me for doing the god card but I questioned it a lot. When kids are killed like this are diagnosed with cancer. That's when I get mad. Why God if you are so good, why are these young innocent lives getting destroyed?

Because God gave humans free will. People make the choice how to treat each other. She could have stopped at any time, but she chose not to. As for diseases or illnesses, a lot of living things including plants and animals can get diseases that cause them to suffer. I am not mad at you for blaming God. I had the same questions at one point. People having free will really can show us how beautiful and how ugly humans can be.
