@photoplanet - Thank you for your post . That's so funny you should mention that. I've been wondering the same thing. I have noticed that some Chinese retail websites are now offering small "water pump" wrenches / plyers that specifically mention "EDC" or "everyday carry" in their product descriptions. So someone has noticed these products have crossed over to a completely different target market. Amazon has also noticed. If you do a search for EDC plyers, their listing come up immediately. Thanks for mentioning that.

Actually Knipex has aimed the Cobra XS at the EDC market. They had this "Oh shoot, damn what's going on" moment with the "Cobra 125 "a couple of years ago. They are not very good at milking that boom, nor are they very good at communicating with #EDC community. So far they haven't come out with companion products other than the XS pliers wrench or the belt pouch. No pouch line up, special editions, "XS rough" with thicker jaws, handle extensions. How about collabs with other companies such as Victorinox or KZfaqrs and innovators like Earthling EDC.

I really……really would love for Knipex to make a multi tool version of the Cobra or pliers wrench with a knife blade, scissors, and maybe a bit driver that takes 1/4 bits on the handles.

@dcs6500 - That's an interesting idea.

I planned on getting the 4" cobra pliers since my multitools needle nose pliers didn't do well on trying to loosen a rusty bolt on my bike. Knipex (or Leatherman?) SERIOUSLY needs to make a folding multitool out of the cobra pliers. Once people see them, they'll sell in the millions since those pliers grip way better than typical multitool pliers.

@875fps - Many thanks for your feedback on the Pocket Rack project. Having multiple specialized kits on racks was the topic of a previous video I did about creating a modular pouch, where each rack in the pouch has a specialized function. What was featured in the video is much better than what we were using in the original design. @imanolfernandez6900 - I would highly recommend it for that purpose. Using it that way also gives you the ability to easily transfer all of the tools in that pouch into a coat pocket, a backpack, your car, a desk drawer , tool bag, bicycle basket/bag, Luggage or anything that you want to drop it into. Also, you don't really need a dedicated EDC pouch with all the straps and little pockets. I'm really amazed how much it has changed how I now carry. @theagent578 Thank you for posting. The rollers on our clothes dryer wore out and needed to be replaced. I used just the tools on the rack to strip the dryer down to the drum, do the repair and reassemble it. There is a time lapse at the end of one of my videos showing the entire process. My wife was quite surprised that I pulled it off :-) Most of the "saving the day" stuff is more like "improving the day. It's nice to be carrying something that might resolve some small problem for me, family, friends or even someone I've just met who needs a charge for their phone, band aid, Motrin, or repair a broken wheel on the last shopping cart. I was dog sitting for a friend tonight at their house and the dog's toy jammed while we were playing with it. I had the rack in my pocket and it was a quick fix with the Knipex. For me, those tools are just about reducing some of the friction points that life throws your way. Plus I like fixing stuff :-)

@qasd48 - Thank you for your post. For what you are describing you can also use the pocket rack without dropping it into a tin. The bands that we use to hold EDC tight to each rack are pretty secure and I have not had issues with the tools coming loose from normal use. That being said, it can also be used in a tin as an EDC organizer or inside just about anything that you can fit it into. I did post a video a few weeks ago about dropping one into a bag of prunes. ;-) Thanks again for sharing you idea.

@fredp1983 Thanks for the feedback. One of my goals for this project has been to keep simplifying the way the bands secure the EDC tools to each rack. The latest bands that you see in this video that are holding the larger items in place (Knipex plyers, Ratchet and bit extender) are using an elastic cord that has a nylon sheath that cover it. That cord is holding a larger black band in place against each tool. This system makes it possible to just slide the tool in and out instead of attaching and detaching the band each time the tool is removed and the reattached. This is a much less fiddly system when compared to what you see in the first Pocket Rack video that we published back in March of 2023. We'll keep improving it. Thank you again for posting.

@icephoenix1088 - Thank you for your post. There are two equally important components to have one of these; the rack itself and the bands that attach the EDC to the rack. Those two components need to interact and work together. We've gone through quite a few variations of both the rack design an d the bands and it keeps getting better. I think we have some upcoming design ideas for the bands that will be REALLY interesting if they work out. I hope to be featuring these in an upcoming video depending on how their testing goes. I like keeping the bands attached and just stretching them to insert EDC. Taking them off and putting them back on shortens their life fro the contact with the anchors. More to come...

@tareksalah84 - Thank you for your post. If you want it to fit into your pocket, just load up one side of it and depending on what you carry it can be a pretty comfortable. If you want to load both sides of a rack and not use a belt pouch, put it in a coat pocket or a pack or any bag, luggage, whatever works for you. The compact 10 round shot gun shell pouch on my belt gives me the ability to easily pull everything out of it without removing the pouch. The empty pouch stays on my belt. For me that system works and also gives me the flexibility to easily access what is on the rack. Everyone has their own way of carrying their EDC. Right now this works for me, next week may be different, but what I'm finding if that the flexibility of these racks makes it easier to make those adjustments. I'm enjoying it. @15MinuteModeller Thank you for your feedback on the Pocket Rack. I'm glad you like it. In regard to the powerbank, it is made by TNTOR and comes in different sizes. The one pictured in the video was their smallest. I've enjoyed using it and it's IDEAL for EDC use.

@simmonds6063 YES! I'm very familiar with that video kzfaq.info/get/bejne/fJmYfMlm2brbkn0.html . @todd.parker is an excellent story teller and videographer. I've watched that particular video quite a few times. I would love to see you do that build out with the tools he suggested in that video and a Pocket Rack Organizer (PRO). His example utilized a wallet to hold the tools. I would suggest using the pocket rack organizer as the tool holder and then attach a a Lycra wallet pouch to the back as the wallet. To do that, you would need to use the standard size pocket rack that you can 3D print. I have information about the Lycra pouches and the STL file for 3D printing a standard size PRO included in the PDF file that you can download from the description for this video. I would love to see you do this build out. Thanks for suggesting this.

@gabrieldawa6221 Thanks for your feedback. The micro version is only 1/10th of an ounce lighter than the free download. Which is roughly the size of a wallet. I would encourage you to test that one out first, before we start offering the micro version. I think you'll like it.

Now it's progressed to the point where we have community members 3D printing customized designs as well as one recently submitted design that was laser cut out of Walnut. A circuit board would need some protection maybe with a resin pour... 🤔 Also: thinking about features to add to the rack like a ruler or wrench holes (you know what I mean?) I was reminded of those creditcard-multitools. Could also be interesting to figure out a useful(!) crossover between a pocket rack and a creditcard tool. Again: It's a really fun concept / platform. @jeskobendmann5166 Thanks for the follow-up. I just wanted to give my 2 cents on the Pocket Rack (PR) compared to the SAK credit card tool set. I think both offer a lot of tools in a small package, but having used my PR for going on 10 months now, the ability to customize the tool set on the Rack for what is going on in your life, makes a big difference in how it gets used and how you start to trust it's capabilities to get stuff done for you. You don't have that ability with the SAK credit card tool set and the tools have limited capability to handle the stuff I want to be able to fix. Everyone has their own ideas about what their ideal EDC is. For me it's grown to be a nice little set of capable tools on a PR. Thanks again for your post.

@DrDennis - It's about the weight of the organizer and the tools you are carrying on it. For me, I would not want to carry a 10 ounce fully loaded pocket rack in my pant's pockets. That's just too much bulk. However, it's not bad carry in a coat pocket, waist bag, belt pouch, back pack, luggage any other type of bag it will fit into. You can also carry a a lighter thinner rack in your pants pocket comfortably by only filling one side with EDC items. It then can get down to the size of a wallet. For me, I like to have the options and compact design of a fully loaded mini pocket rack and a belt pouch. Thanks for posting.

@lw1zfog - Thank you for your post. Think of it as a mini tool kit. The mini SAK is there to open boxes and maybe cut some paper and file nails. If you want it to have a larger knife,you can customize the organizer to fit your specific needs.

The only major restriction is that you can't sell them. There is a utility patent pending. A credit card is 54mm X 86mm and the pocket rack mini is 62mm X 103.7mm it’s larger.

@veritas.ve.42 - Thank you for your post. The size difference between the free STL 3d file and the mini Pocket Rack pictured in the video is 0.6oz vs 0.5oz. For most users the mini version is probably too small to start with. I would encourage you to start off with the regular size first and see how you like it . @haukefrahmann7849 - Thanks for asking. Those were prototypes for a size that I'll be offering for sale soon. I wanted to see what people thought of them before moving forward on production. Keep in mind that the larger version is about the size of a wallet so it's still very small. The tools that I had in the video were selected for that smaller version. What I'm seeing from people that are building these out is that a larger rack would probably be a good place to start because it will accommodate more EDC items.

That free file is slightly larger than the one that was featured in the video. Instead of 19.8 inches of storage space, it gives you around 24. @ynotjf - Thanks for sharing your experience with your EDC - Like you, I too have had 60+ years of using tools. I just got back from visiting my 90+ year old mother in CA and she had a long list of fixes for me to take care of around her house. My little EDC kit took care of most of it. A persons EDC should fit their needs and how they work. It sounds like you have the perfect set-up for the way you work and what you work on. I've got mine pretty well dialed in for the way I work. My kit will continue to evolve over the coming decades and I look forward to that. Thank you again for sharing your thoughts about your EDC.

@dimitrispapachristou9706 - Thank you for bring this to my attention. You are entirely correct and I sincerely apologize if that example came off as being pretentious. There are indeed three access slots on the other side of that pouch. I was not trying to hide that, it appears to have been a failed attempt on my part to illustrate that the square inch volume of that large pocket on the pouch was less than that of the mini rack. There are similar pouches of that size that don't have the access slots that would have been ideal for illustrating this point, but I don't own any of them and this is what I had available to me. My apologies again if this came off as being deceptive. In future videos I'll be clearly calling this out when presenting an item for illustrative purposes. Thank you again for posting this.
