Our final day at the Consumer Electronics Show was all about Segway! Tyson left the show floor and trekked to Segway’s test track location, where they had assembled a variety of scooters, electric bikes, and even a go-kart for test rides. We were especially excited to see their new prototypes: The Xyber, an electric motorcycle masquerading as an electric bike, and the Xafari, a comfortable and sporty adventure e-bike.

I love that Segway Xyber can be ridden with one battery and more storage space or two batteries with limited storage.

It might ship as a class 2 from factory, but you know owners will find a way to unlock it, & go full speed.

That Segway GT2 sounds soo good smooth powerful it would be nice if those batteries are swappable. They should made swappable batteries I'm SOLD! If not I'm not buying it and look elsewhere.

100% agree! I find it so frustrating that most scooters don't have easily removable batteries. Swapping for long rides, being able to charge inside, making it lighter for carrying it... not to mention being able to replace it when it eventually wears out.

The mini plus is still a useable vehicle for getting to stores and work, as long as they don't ban them on buses!!! 😡 Kickscooters are way more dangerous with tiny wheels than the mini...

Do you think itll ship class 2, but have "off road" unlocking capabilities? And under the "x", is that a light?

That's what I recommended to them, and the only way I can see someone buying it... otherwise it's just too darn heavy. Restricting a 3,000 watt motor to only 20mph seems silly! Yes, it's a headlight under the X - same light that's on the Xafari and I think on some of their scooters too.

@MicromobilityIndustries Oh man. If they actually restrict it to 20mph, would that make it the biggest ebike blunder ever? They really have a chance not only to make a statement, but set a standard going forward. If the rumored 2700 price point is true, cheaper than a 73 right under a surron for power...

@@mylifepoetic Worry not. It's going to be legal as much as it can be with "off-road capabilities". Same trick that Onyx, Lyric Cycles and others does.

You're right, it is too good to be true, @@mylifepoetic The GT2 launched at $4,000 (now $2,500 after years on the market ofcourse) I highly doubt the Xyber will be cheaper than their scooter when it's released.
