This was awesome. You answered so many of my questions in one video. I had started out using the G3000 and was comfortable with it, but then I went back to some aircraft that used the G1000 and hit a wall trying to work with flight plans. Thank you for your explanations.

Thank you so much! Your tutorials are the best, very clear on the point! One question: How do you achive superb video quality on youtube, even on avc1 codec and without 4k upscaling?

Thank you very much. I'm using Nvidia NVENC as the video encoder and Nvidia Shadowplay for recording most of the time. Then I edit with Wondershare Filmora X and render the final video using GPU acceleration. I also do use Streamlabs OBS, but haven't compared the quality on KZfaq. My last video was recorded with Streamlabs OBS and edited with Wondershare Filmora X, please let me know if the quality is not the same.

@@TheSimPilot Thank you for the reply. Your latest video has also a superb quality and youtube switched to the vp9 codec(better). My recordings with OBS (mp4 CBR 40000) look perfect. But once uploaded, youtube destroyes it :D

@@fazekasmedia Could be something about KZfaq's processing algorithm. What I can do is I can email you my OBS Video Output settings and maybe it might help you to get a better quality. If you could shoot me an email @ th3simpilot@gmail.com I will respond to that email with my OBS settings if this is something you want to experiment.

I’ve started to watch your g1000 tutorials and was wondering if you have covered holding patterns? What if ATC redirects you to a waypoint to hold. How do you find that point and navigate there? When creating a flight plan do you look at potential holding points so you can be prepared Incase you get diverted for traffic?

I have not covered the holding patterns yet, usually they are depicted on approach plates as you might already know. Might be worthwhile to look into it in s separate tutorial.

Same group is working on an improved G3000 but they haven't released it yet. I'll post it to discord when it's released.

Thanks! Is there an easier way to enter the waypoints into the G1000? Its very cumbersome to fizzle around with the dialer in the unit

Unfortunately that is the only way other than doing it in the world map menu before loading the aircraft.

Thank you for the tutorial. I have a question how to go directly to a waypoint and ignore all the others. The feature we have for example in the MCDU of a A320

There is an option on G1000 can't remember the exact name but it's something around Direct or DCT you can enter a waypoint there and activate to go direct. That should override all other waypoints in your flight plan.

I just looked it up it's a button with a D symbol and an arrow in the middle on the MFD side next to the "Menu" button

Is there a way to save the flight plans constructed in G1000? I tried saving the flight but it crashed the sim on reload and there is no option to save a plan other than one made when in the default planning tool. Thanks for these videos they are really helpful.

As far as I remember it's still not possible to save it through G1000. I'll double check to see if it's changed. It's been a while since I tried to save a flight plan

I'm late to this, but am curious if there is a way to manually set navigation to the next waypoint or go back one. For instance when I changed the approach plan, the waypoint returned to the previous one, turning me around.

That is still an issue with approaches in MSFS, I haven't tested if WorkingTitle mod fixed that issue.

@@TheSimPilot Does working title still work? The last update is several months old and the sim updates have changed g1000.

@@icecold9511 it was working until the last update, WU4 broke something and they are working on an update. Also they updated G1000 almost after every update as well so it's more less being updated as the sim updates.

P Bonds either I open the programs I'll need before starting the simulator or I simply hit the "Windows" key on my keyboard to run the program I need. From there I use Alt+TAB to switch between windows.

Thanks for your video. I learned a lot from them. Need your help on G1000. I found out altitude did not got populated from selected flight plan. When I try to give the value manually it looks not working. Here is what I did in FS. FPL->FMS(Toggle Select Cursor to ALT ____FT) then turn small knob. I am expecting input ALT value instead it pope up WAYPOINT INFOMATION. What I did wrong? Or it is a bug. Thanks ahead. Mike

Mike the G1000 in the video is now a legacy version of the working title mod altitude selection per waypoint is not possible due to VNAV not being fully implemented. It only let's you to select a cruising altitude on the PFD. However the new version of G1000 called G1000NXI by the working title team will have a working VNAV in one of the future versions which will allow this.

The Sim Pilot, How can I go directly to a waypoint (skipping some waypoints of the f-pln) included in the flight plan?

Haseen, there are two ways of doing it one way is to move down on the flight plan and activate that leg, the other way is to select the Direct To button and enter the waypoint that you want to go directly. Second option still has some bugs and might delete the entire flight plan, happened to me couple times hopefully MS will fix the issue in the coming updates.

The Sim Pilot, thanks for your reply. You mean highlight the target waypoint in the F-PLN, select MENU and scroll to Activate Leg? But it caused some problem. Anyways, I'll try again and write to you.

G1000 is a pain to use in MS. Because of that, I can't be bothered to fly any plane with that system installed. Just too painful and frustrating.

@@CaptainFancy I agree however there are workarounds that you can manage it, though we users shouldn't be the ones trying to figure out a workaround. Hopefully they'll fix it in the near future.

Hi, you need to download and extract the zip to your community folder. Right now G1000 needs a fix after last world update breaking it. Working Title team has not released a fix yet. You can follow the mod here : github.com/Working-Title-MSFS-Mods/fspackages
