Thank you for another informative tutorial. The capability of this planning tool is astounding. The fact that the author gives it away is mind boggling. I'm also amazed at how thorough your tutorials are. You do a great service to the sim community and I thank you for your efforts on our behalf. BTW, the name Little NavMap is a misnomer. I would suggest Comprehensive Planning Tool or in keeping with the original name Comprehensive NavMap or at least, Big NavMap :)

Very enjoyable great info. I used this all the time and now I can use it more efficiently. I for one donated to the creator. Amazing amount of info in this app. I’ve been in sim since FS98 I used FSNav and was concerned that the newer version wouldn’t have it. Such a powerful tool with tons of info enroute that one might not have.

Little Nav Map has become my favorite flight planning tools - especially for GA flight planning. There might be some better for planning airliner flights were fuel and weight calculations are needed, but I have yet to find one with as much functionality all in one application. The only other one I use is Skyvector for the charts. One feature I really like is the live link to the simulator so you can display taxiways and find your way around unfamiliar airports, as well as just following along as your flight progresses. The only real issue is exporting the plan and importing into MSFS - it is not always accurate. But that seems to be a problem no matter which tool is used. Probably more of an issue with MSFS than LNM. And if you want to use Pilot2ATC for the immersive ATC experience it provides, it only gets worse. In a perfect world MSFS would have a planning tool with the features of LNM and an ATC that function as well as Pilot2ATC. I know, I'm dreaming right!? Nice work as brother. AE

Great video series on Little Navmap. Thank you. I have created a User Waypoint in Little Navmap where an airport exists that is not in the MSFS 2020 data base. Can you tell me how that waypoint can be used as a Departure or Destination point when creating a flight plan in Little Navmap (to be exported into MSFS 2020)? Thanks.

Thanks again. I asked this in Video 2 also but, can you alter your altitude en route in the Little Navmap flight plan? This would make for a more accurate fuel calculation, and there are various reasons for wishing to alter altitude en route.

Hi, thanks for the videos, very nice. About the flight plan, I know how to set a departure gate, but I'm still trying to figure out how to set a destination gate. I'm able to do that into the sim flight planner but can't acheive that in Navmap. Are you able to do it yourself ?

Thank you again for a great tutorial, Lots to learn and remember, One question, to change from version 2.6.10 to 2.6.11, do you have to delete the old version and go thru the complete installation process every time? Thank you for your time.
@badGamr
@badGamr 3 жыл бұрын
What I do is I keep the folder Little Navmap on my desktop. I store support files such as the globe elevation data, flight plans and aircraft performance files in my documents directory and let little navmap use them from that location. When an update comes out I just delete the little navmap folder from my desktop and drag and drop the new one from the zip file onto my desktop to replace the old one. Little Navmap does not actually use an installation procedure per se. It's just a copy to your hard drive. Hope that helps!

Thanks for the videos I've watched the little nav map ones about 10 times, if I set parking gate at airport departure it always starts on the runway. Is that something I have set in msfs, never had a flight start cold at a gate, also can't get little nav map to work on ILS landing in VFR flight does that only work if doing IFR
@badGamr
@badGamr 3 жыл бұрын
Yes you need to be in IFR for ILS to work as far as I know. I have never tried starting at a gate in LNM and then loading that up in the sim. I'll test that later today. If you go into the sim and put in the airport on the world map and zoom in as far as you can you should be able to see parking and gates. You should be able to click on one and set that as departure to start at the gate cold and dark. I do that all the time and it works fine.
@badGamr
@badGamr 3 жыл бұрын
I tested setting a gate as a departure point at KVNY. Gate 74. Then set my destination as KCMA. About a 30nm flight. I exported that from LNM and loaded it inside of MSFS and it started me out on the runway with the engine running. I then examined the flight plan file itself and it seems that LNM does not add the gate as departure but only the airport and runway. It might be that Alex decided to omit it if MSFS ignores it or it could be a bug in LNM.
@CarlandCrez
@CarlandCrez 3 жыл бұрын
@@badGamr thanks, I'll try getting to the gate in the sim, as least I now know its not due to my settings in msfs eg assist or easy
