I built this media console using shop sawn veneer and also used my new Lamello Zeta P2 with Clamex and Divario connectors to make it RTA (Ready To Assemble) or knock down. I must say I am very impressed with the Lamello Zet P2!

I'm in Australia and have just bought some swirly walnut veneer from NY State. Taking a long time to get here at the moment. I have been considering the best way to ensure the veneer edges are straight. Must confess have never seen it done the way you did it on a planer - thicknesser. Great idea Guy. Will certainly give that a try. Always enjoy your work.

Happy to see you back,Guy. Ive been following you for some time and you have inspired me to dive into veneering after your great walnut dinning table build. Did my own version of yours in cherry. This project was exceptional and offers some great joinery options. One question. Curious why you choose what looked like yellow wood glue instead of the regular veneer glue you and others have used in the past?
@GuysShop
@GuysShop 5 жыл бұрын
Thanks Joe! Since the veneer was 1/16" thick, there is really no danger of the glue coming up to the surface. The thineer commercial veneer can let glue up to the surface, so veneer glue is a better option.
@joeleonetti8976
@joeleonetti8976 5 жыл бұрын
Thanks Guy. I enjoyed the video. You had talked about it on the ATG podcast and it was nice to finally see it. Was the choice for walnut veneer driven by wood movement and the desired design? I live on the West Coast and I can get rough sawn walnut for around $4 a board foot so I'm guessing it's not so much a cost issue. Just curious. It certainly a nice piece.

Hey Guy, another great demonstration. It was one of your other videos that got me to finally get the Incra TS fence for my Ridgid R45 table saw, which I actually love now that I added the fence. There were several things I saw in this video that had me drooling. I was doing a search for the Lamello Zeta P2 because I wanted more videos on it's functionality. Before this video I only saw the main use of the basic connectors and the basic knockdown connectors in other videos. In this one you showed several things I hadn't seen before. You also answered a question I was wondering about how it would be used in a real world scenario, in particular, if you would possibly need another system to compliment it. Answering that question, you demonstrated using the Festool Domino's knockdowns in areas that you couldn't use the Lamello connectors. I always seem to find your videos a couple of years after you post them. I know I could click on the bell, but if I did that for every KZfaq video I like, my phone would never stop sending me notices.

Hello Guy. This is my second time watching this video. The console turned out great and as always your attention to detail is excellent! The Lamello Zeta P2 and the Festool Domino and the Domino connectors really worked well together in this project! I believe I have the same tablesaw you do (Powermatic PM2000) and was curious about the Incra fence system you have on yours. I know you have had yours for some time now and was curious if you are still happy with it and would you purchase one again? I am thinking of upgrading my fence system to one as well. Which length/width? fence did you get? Also are you happy with with your Incra router table and fence system? If I remember correctly you built the the router table base yourself correct? Any changes you would do there? Thanks Guy. Ron

Hello, I have a question about the Lamello. Do you think you can use the clamp biscuit connectors (not sure what they are actually called) to glue up wood panels (table tops) without using clamps?
@paultest4544
@paultest4544 2 жыл бұрын
you can with the lamallo Clamex connectors, they are designed to clamp the wood while the glue dries. Could you do it with the lamello knock down fasteners in the video? Honestly, I don't know. The nice thing about the clamex connectors is you don't have that little 6mm hole drilled in (which is needed to get the allen wrench in).. Obviously, the clamex are not made to be taken apart once joined.
