Shadow of Mordor Review - 10 years later - Reviewed on PC
In the early 2000's and even late 90's, there were hundreds of movie tie in games from the fantastically awful Batman & Robin video game, The phase 1 MCU games like Thor, Iron Man and the Captain America game that surprisingly from what I'd heard wasn't too bad - but we also got some games that were tied to movies, and SLAPPED - like the Lord of the Rings movie tie in games - which, yes i need to go back and play those games - but when the movie tie in games slowed down, and came to a near stop, we started to get games created using popular IP's such as the Arkham games, The sequel to the first Alien movie in Alien Isolation, which yes is also going to be covered on the channel, and the Ghostbusters game - And after a few attempts to have some Lord of the Rings based games like War in The North, Monolith productions gave us the best Lord of The Rings Video Games in the Mordor series, starting with Shadow of Mordor.

We might be lucky for it to be in other games sometime in the 2030s assuming once the patent expires they won't renew it/form a new one etc.

Great review, mate. This is a game that I started to play but never really got into it a few years back. Your review really sells it so I've thrown it on my backlog game list, which after 2023 let me tell you, is a massive log. ;) x

Fantastic Review! and the memes are just superb! i always found myself overwhelmed in this game, as i notice the nemesis system only updates when you die - so of course i tried to kill them all to force the game to clean slate itself - never actually achieved it though!

Celebrimbor is an eternal badass...really enjoyed this game and now looking forward to Shadow of War, which I have no idea why I haven't played yet. Very nice review!

Gave it a miss many years ago. Purchased it the other day for £4 (result) i see the AC & arkham similarities but it more reminds me of ghost of Tsushima but with orcs. Can't wait to go in properly. Any starter tips for this old man?

The Arkham Asylum and City were great, the Knight not so much (too mucha batmobile and "phone" calls). Arkham Origins(?) haven't tried. This SoM seems nice. Seems a bit like the AC games that i love. Is it straight forward into story or you can roam around discovering interesting stuff?

What I really liked about shadow of Mordor, is how they really got the essence of mordor right. At the beginning of the game it’s fucking freaky walking around knowing you are in the shits. You are literally the most evil and ever and surrounded by baddies for miles. The fear of being there is unreal. I didn’t feel the same way about the second game, but I was a bit older and it was a bit different so maybe on this next play through. I’ll change my mind.

I bought both games whils on vacation last week in ireland(im from the US) and im getting into Shadow Of Mordor and holy shit can those damn orks and captains overwhelm your ass quick 😂😂😂 Getting my ass handed to me but having fun

I just got the game today 1- First look doesn’t look promising at all of what I’ve researched on KZfaq reviews or anywhere on the internet didn’t convince me in any way. 2- After downloading the game the intro is fire and the combat is oddly satisfying I will keep updating as I play the game.
