Nel 1989 Mark L. Lester torna tra i "i banchi di scuola" e realizza il secondo capitolo della sua saga fanta-didattica. Dopo "CLASSE 1984" ("Class Of 1984), infatti, dà alla luce "CLASSE 1999" ("Class Of 1999"). Per l'occasione si avvale di una Main Theme coi fiocchi elaborata dall'ex vocalist degli Ultravox Midge Ure. Il brano è "Come The Day", sorta di ballata Rock aderentissima alla trattazione. Ve la proponiamo con il nostro consueto montaggio amatoriale, sperando sia di vostro gradimento. Buona visione.

Me and my dad fished beside him (M Ure) early/mid nineties, and he said he loved the song personally but it wasn't commercially viable enough (ironically it was seen as too similar to Canadian-Scot GOWAN's stuff, who had the right-of-way versus a session song for a sci-fi flick.) to *buy* it back from the movie to *use* in any of his own endeavors.

Pam Grier, Malcolm Mcadowell, Stacy Keach und wie ich damals fand,eine bildhübsche Tracy Lind.Dazu Action mit einer ordentlichen Schlachtplatte.Das ist zwar nur ein B Movie ,der aber Spaß macht,und mit dem Soundtrack von Midge Ure richtig Rockt. Von allen möglichen "Terminator" und" Robocop" nachmachern ,ist das eine bessere Version des Themas "Kampfroboter in Menschengestalt ".Und wo ich das Video jetzt so sehe,muss ich sagen das Mark Lester ,den Film auch in Schwarz/Weiß hätte drehen sollen.Alleine schon wegen den Augen (Kontaktlinsen )von Stacy Keach.

Das wichtigste, meiner Meinung nach an dem Film ist das typische Flair, die Atmosphäre, die nur Filme aus dieser Zeit haben (Ende 80er, Anfang 90er), das macht ihn für mich auch so sehenswert. Natürlich stimmt hier auch der Rest, ein zu unrecht wenig bekannter Actionstreifen.

@@Starsilber Der Film in sich selber,ist auch gut gealtert.Wenn die im Titel notwendige Jahreszahl nicht wäre,könnte man nicht sagen,im welchem Jahr er spielt .Genauso wie bei "Die Klasse von 1984".Ohne die Jahresangabe,wäre es möglich zu sagen das "99"eine direkte Fortsetzung ist.Also Teil 1 und Teil 2 einer Reihe.Aber die Filme haben ja nur durch den Regisseur und den Titel eine Verbindung. Manche sehen ihm auch als direkte Fortsetzung,andere nicht.Ich selber gehöre zur zweiten Gruppe.Weil die Film verschiedene Ansätze haben..Und mit "Klasse von 99 -Teil 2"gab es ja eine Fortsetzung,die eher unsäglich war.Aber "Action High School Filme"waren ja mal ein Modetrend.Ich erinnere nur an "3 O'Clock"so eine Art "12 Uhr Mittags","The Principal-Der Direktor " und"Heathers".Gut,der letzte geht schon mehr in Richtung Horror,aber ich Ordne ihm trotzdem mal den SubGenre "High School Action" zu.Weil die Produktion(nicht die Geschichte selber),auch in diesem Zeitraum passierte und dementsprechend auf der Welle mit geritten ist. Wobei,wenn ich genau nachdenke müssten es ja heißen "Schüler-Leher "Konflikt Filme.Und die gibt es alle paar Jahre immer wieder mal.Die bekannteren sind ja "Club der toten Dichter" und "Dangeroures Minds".

@@Starsilber So unbekannt ist der Film eigentlich gar nicht.Gelegntlich läuft er auf "Tele 5" und von all den "Terminator"verschnitten,ist das einer der besseren oder sogar besten.

@@thomaskruse8298 Ja, über Tele 5 bin ich auch auf den Film gestoßen, kannte den vorher nicht - hab ihn aber direkt auf Festplatte aufgenommen. Es lohnt sich immer bei dem Sender reinzuschauen, die Zeigen oft sehr interessante Filme die andere Sender nicht oder seit Jahren nicht mehr ausstrahlen. "Dangerous Minds" und "Club der Toten Dichter" kenne ich, alle anderen nicht. Muss ich mal schauen, bin eigentlich mehr so im Horror-Genre zuhause, gerne gute B-Movies aus dem Zeitraum des o.g. Films, die Ende 80er Anfang 90er Streifen gefallen mir meist am Besten.

@@Starsilber "The Principal "ist mit Jim Belushi."Klasse von '99"hab ich mir auf Video ausgeliehen, kurz nach dem er Veröffentlicht wurde."3 O'Clock "ist in der Tat recht unbekannt.Und bei "Heathers"spielen Christian Slater und Wionna Ryder 2 Schüler,die Mitschüler umbringen. Eigentlich mehr eine Art Horror/Thriller Komödie.
