I've had to clean a toilet this bad before... I had a loved one who was older and was taking meds that affected his ability to make it to the bathroom on time. In his case it was fresh accidents. I used tips I learned from you to clean his bathroom. He recently passed and left me his house and everything he owned. I wasn't happy at the time that I was cleaning his home and caring for him. It was hard to care for someone through such a debilitating time but now in hind sight I am so glad that I was there for him in his time of need because he didn't have anyone else, and I just think of him being stuck alone ashamed and unable to clean up the mess. His family had written him off and weren't there for him except for one of his sisters. I know that in our situation we would have been very thankful for someone like you coming in and helping people the way you do. I think it's amazing that you care so much about people in need.

I was the one who came into my dad's place (after work) and cleaned up after him (the whole bathroom issue) and made a meal every day for a year and a half. It was exhausting, and at times I resented him. I know that sounds awful. However, I am so thankful I had that time with him. I'm not his only child, just the only one there to help him, and his siblings did nothing. So, I have immense appreciation, sympathy, and understanding for all you did, your frustration, and your showing of love.

Exactly! Same with toilet design, though I’m finally seeing skirted toilets that are easier to clean. If bathrooms were designed by people who have to clean them, they’d be completely waterproof, have a drain in the floor, and you’d be able to hose the entire thing down. That’s been my dream. 😃

Tara, the best thing anyone ever told me when my big brother died came from a Lakota spiritual leader, who said, "We grow like the sassafras trees, which grow all together in the forest. They send out runner roots, from which new trees grow. If you cut one down you no longer see the top of the tree. But the roots Still nourish and sustain the other trees around it. In this way. The person you lost. It's not gone but a living part of who you are. And so sometime, you will be doing something, and hear that person's voice in your head, in your heart -- as if they were right there with you saying something funny, or guiding you. And that's because part of them has become a living part of you." Someday, I hope you are able to listen for, and hear your daughter's living laugh, the reply she would make, the remark that makes you snort your tea. Peace be with you🙏

Sorry folks if that toilet offended you, but as someone who has been a nursing home housekeeper, I can honestly tell you that toilet is no worse than ones I cleaned every single day at a time when no one wore masks unless they were trick or treating or performing surgery. Dude, his son Jason can do a Backflip from stand! INTO A SHOPPING CART! AND he does a crazy kick from WITHIN the cart without shifting aside or toppling over and not only hit the milk and not the lady or hurt himself (presumably), but also gives the most deadass one liner a TV movie villain from the 90s could not even come up with. WTF!? This is gold! (But seriously, Jason needs some help my man. This is straight up manic behavior and should be treated/punished, but damn was that funny to listen to)

The fact that your son dives into those messes with you tells us everything about his level of emotional damage 😂😉. If it was serious he would never be by your side. My dad was a custodian for 35 years. He served our school district until he had a heart attack at the school. He made such an impact on people here through teasing and joking with the kids that we held his funeral in the school gymnasium because about a thousand people came to say their farewell. We live in a town with only 6000 people. His joking and care forged life long friendships and appreciation.

Couldn't agree more, I was cracking up. My dad was super abusive, and yet would always talk to other people as if he loved and cherished us and always wanted to brag about our talents. I think if this gent really hated Jason, he wouldn't include him in videos and certainly would not out himself and his true feeling to the world. My father passed away in the first week of December 2022. Not only did he leave a huge mess financially, he left behind every piece of mail, paperwork and furniture since the early 1980s. He lives an hour and a half from me. I have had to work full time in addition to driving to his hoarded cat infested home. Your videos inspire me to try and keep an objective of getting the home back to the way it was originally. Unfortunately, the bank will take over the home. However, out of respect for him and for the fact that I am finally "allowed" to clean, I am enjoying the process.

Heartbreaking hearing about you losing or on the brink of losing loved ones. Lost my dad 8 years ago this July on the day that hospice care brought the bed to my parents' home. He was himself until that very day, and thankfully, he passed peacefully with all of us surrounding him, holding his hands, telling him we loved him. In retrospect, I'm so thankful he didn't suffer. But it's still like it happened yesterday. I heard a saying a while back that grief is just love with nowhere to go. For some reason, it helped me. So, I pass it on hoping it will help anyone who bothers to read this. Cry when it helps and laugh when you remember any good times. ❤🙏

What gets me is that underneath the layers and layers of chaos (to us) you can see previous happier times, buried. The pretty trinkets, family photos...it's like the person has buried their grief and pain along with the good stuff. You have helped bring that back to the surface, and it's a wonderful thing you do. Not to be the word police or anything but, just so you know, “Aspergers” isn’t really vocabulary a lot of the autistic community likes to use anymore. Without going into too much detail, basically, “Aspergers” is an outdated diagnosis with roots in Nazi eugenics. “Aspergers” is now just regular old ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder). There is no difference in “Aspergers” and autism.

I am a hoarder. When my son was younger (he passed at 33 years old in 2021 from a run on seizure. he was autistic, adhd, functionally 5 years old), he too was a hoarder and would trash his room. After he had to go into a facility for being violent, I couldn't clean his room (couldn't see, had major crying fits and tremendous anxiety) for a good year, meanwhile the piles in my living room here growing. One summer it was hella hot (110 F) so I decided to clean my son's old room. I removed an impressive 250 extra large contractor bags (40 g) used by janitors. I didn't steal the bags, my church donated them. It was what they used in their rolling trash bins which I could have used but didn't ask. I filled 3 apartment sized trash bins outside. I had to divvy up the bags so that I left room in the dumpsters for others (92 units). When done, I had to tackle the living room which I removed over 100 40 g bags. Then it was my closets. My church sent out my laundry, over 100 lbs. Glad my church cleared out my living room entirely and scrubbed my apartment while I was in the hospital/skilled nursing homes over 60 days and now I have 3 caregivers that do my housekeeping while I recuperate.
