Generally you don't compare up Grayson canisters because two different types of people buy them for completely two different types of households. but in my humble opinion /experience the cleaning difference between the vacuums you stated and this are marginal.

A central vac is ideal. But the vacuum you see in the video is a s514. Because it was laying around.

All C3 s8000 series machines and c2 s6000-series machines have the encapsulated motor. About half of the models sold in the US are offered with electric power head. However the better selling models have the SEB 228 SEB236 powerhead. We also sell a lot of upright vacuum cleaners. Which all have electric power. The stb 305 is not offered .

Thanks for that - its strange how the US has higher wattage motors in their Mieles, and offer electric powerheads, buy in the UK, where we now have under 900W Mieles, we dont get the option of powerheads any more, only turbo brushes. I would have thought that with lower powered motors, powerheads would become more commonplace, but they are not. We can get the ET-1 powerhead on the E3 Premium by SEBO, but no powerhead offered by Miele. I can only assume that they dont sell them here now as people were not prepared to spend £500 - £600 on the powerhead models when they were being sold here. At £600, that is more expensive than the most expensive Dyson (bar the robotic Dyson)

It's very interesting to hear that you in the UK hasn't got any option how to get a Miele with powerhead, I am from the Czech Republic and Miele offers here a Miele C3 Electro Ecoline SGFP3 for 560 GBP in conversion. So if you want it, just buy it in other EU state and than change the plug, good way to get it :)

We did used to have them available here, but Miele discontinued them. I can only assume they did so because people could not afford them. The UK is under heavy austerity and people are struggling to make ends meet, so many people look for cheap vacuums like Hoover and Vax for the £100 mark. Those with more money tend to get Dysons, or Miele but with the straight suction or turbo heads. At £600, the Miele with powerhead would be even more expensive than the most expensive Dyson cylinder. I cannot see many people buying an EU machine and having to change plugs - it is only something a select few collectors might do. I already own a Miele S5 with the SEB236 powerhead and whilst its a feature packed machine, i dont use it very often as its bulky and cumbersome with the electric hose and large, heavy powerhead.

Miele no longer has the motor cover on the c3’s. They have done away with them and now it is just a motor with a support bracket. I kinda liked the cover but without it the motor can cool better I presume which increases the life of the machine.

In the US we only have the 1200 watt 120 volt models. We have no regulations on vacuums.

Where as here in the uk and EU we have to have 700w motors 😭🥲😂😂

Bring it to your local authorized service center they'll probably need to order a panel but who knows until they pull it apart and look at it.

We should hope that people do. Then they will bring there vacuum cleaners back in a box.
