I have this very same unit in my home. I use it exclusively on hard floor and mats. I use the "corner" setting and find that it does a very thorough job. No complaints here! Thanks for the review.

Great demo ibasiac , we have a Robot vac ( Roomba ) with twin roll brushes and the dirt flick brush at front, it picks up fairly well, it had to learn the rooms layout over time it learned more and more with each use, not sure if the Meile has to learn, although I must say the Robot cannot replace a good upright vacuum cleaner.

mine has just turned off but the charging light is still green? the charging battery shows fullly charged but when i press any button i get no reaction at all??

Great demo. One of the best I've seen. I had the same disappointing performance with the product. It's navigation and tracking capabilities are excellent, but its vacuum performance is very disappointing. We bought this for a holiday house, and the previous tenant had left a little Deebot behind which I think costs about $150; the Miele ($900) does not clean as well as the Deebot. Amazing considering...... I returned the product with no problems from Miele, and I'm always appreciative of their customer service, but if I was Miele I would withdraw this product and work on its cleaning performance.

I've just reviewed a Roomba which cleans much better than the Miele, but the nacigation isn't as good.

The Scout got a Don't Buy from the UK's consumer association Which? I knew this before I was offered the robot to demo, but I thought I would see for myself.

I'm going to retract my previous positive comment about Miele Australia's good customer service and change it to "hopeless". It's been a month since I returned the product and still they have not refunded the $900. Robert, a customer service supervisor from the Australian call centre, has not returned a single email or call since the product was returned. He's never even acknowledged that Miele received the returned product. Emails to the Australian MD, Sjaak Brouwer, requesting a resolution are ignored. What has happened to you people? You used to be excellent! Is the new MD not interested in his devoted customers? I've bought 36 major appliances from Miele since 2002. Again I ask: What has happened to you people?

I thought that robotic vacuum cleaners would be more advanced a much more powerful by now. I think that a square front with the brushroll in the front would only make more sense and would clean edges better. But considerthe performance of some Dyson and Shark cordless stick vac and multifunction machines in comparison to any robotic vacuum on the market and even those aren't a substitute for a full sized vacuum. I'm really hoping to see major improvements in robotic vacuum performance but presently the objective is just finish the room and return to base.

It's not actually manufactured by Miele. They have a new model coming out that is supposed to be better, but I'll stick with my Roombas for now.

I don't think any vacuum cleaner can help with excema and psoriasis. Try a collodial silver spray.

its just smearing it into the carpet, something like the neato or a samsung powerbot has more suction and has a great brush that actually gets into the carpet more thoroughly

I still think that iRobot makes the best robot vacuums. a slightly off topic question but where did you find the bit of music over your IBAISAIC end credit type thing? Its worked its way into my head a bit.

Thanks for this demo. Will be avoiding the Miele like the plague. For nearly £400 it's rubbish! May as well just buy Dyson V10 for the same price and blitz the house in 5 mins.

Thank you so much for doing this fine review! This bot vac has won several tests in Norwegian and Swedish magazines. I wonder how?! Btw, why would you NOT want to clean the corners? Seems like a pointless feature...

I find it pretty poor on carpet but OK for floor. The consumer association in the UK awarded this model a don’t buy. I have a Neato now which is far better.

I think one thing people need to understand is these are basically dusters, they will not take the place of a real vacuum, but are good for dusting in between your actual vacuuming.

well it does depend on suction, samsungs powerbots have a great suction and pick up a lot of stubborn dirt

would be a valid argument, if other robotic dusters didnt' do better. But if it does it every day hopefully the next day would pick up the other 5g. But not going under the chairs is just inexcusable.

This was meant for in between cleanings not to replace your vacuum. I think all robotic vacs are like that. Good vid though👍

Sadly it isn't made by Miele, but you'd have thought they would have done extensive tests on it before stamping it with the Miele name.

I think that Miele bought the company that makes this machine. I believe that the reason they'd purchased this specific company was because of their programming advancements.

Superb demo but rather shocked a brand like Miele would put their name on something so woefully ...well, worthless. They should be embarrassed, but commerce seems to preclude guilt. Another appallingly overpriced ripoff. Sad.

I really wanted to like this Miele, but even before I got it I didn't have high hopes as our consumers association Which? gave it a Don't Buy. It does a lot of things right, apart from carpet cleaning and floor coverage. My older Roombas do a much better job of cleaning, albeit in a more random and noisy way. I am still keeping this Miele though, as when used on a daily basis, it does leave my carpet and floor looking freshly vacuumed, as long as I don't spill too much tea or rolled oats.

david galloway .I totally agree with you david.a great job done by roger yet again but this vacuum cleaner sucks.i stand corrected. it doesn't suck.i compare this to a manual carpet sweepers unfortunately. hope you are doing great.

Even more appalling, is it costs $599US vs $399 for the base model made in Germany Miele upright vacuum. Ridiculous. Of course one does have to get off their arse...

I have used the Samsung and powerbot and even cheap Chinese ones that perform just like a regular vacuum and clean very well. For a brand like Miele this is shocking. It's just a sweeper. No real vacuum suction.

The whole point of being given products for review is to be honest about them. In this case, I did not recommend the product and it would have been dishonest of me to do so.
