Check out our unboxing, assembly, and testing of the Migro Aray 4 Pro light. We'll go through PPFD test results at 16 hang heights as well as power draw and temperature readings. This light offers fantastic coverage in a 2'x4' and puts up strong numbers from 6" and up. View detailed charts at ppfdcharts.com/ppfd-data/migr...
The Migro Aray 4 Pro is a 4-bar 265W watt dimmable light built to flower a 2’x4’ grow space. Each bar consists of 168 white Seoul Semiconductor LEDs and 12 Osram 660nm reds. The driver is a Migro-branded unit that can dim from 100% down to completely off. This light is designed to be run very close to your plants - Migro recommends a hang height of just 6” above canopy (*correction: it's actually 8" for the PRO version and 6" for the RED version).

Thanks for the review and the great data. The minimum recommended hanging height for the PRO is 8" and the +RED version is 6". I will try to make this clearer on the website and operations manual as it is a little confusing at the moment. Take care, Shane

True - the half-inch I measured was with them hanging properly in the tent, but they did flex more when I lifted them that way.

yeah they do, i think Shane reverted to an ink logo iso having it punched in the bracket because of the flexing. i guess "light weight" comes with a compromise, but they are flexible so that shouldn't be too much of an issue ;p

You can build your own LED lights very easily, much better then anything you can buy from a main manufacture. Aluminum for heat sinks, framing, and you can order numerous drivers depending on your set up, meanwell being the best choice for most people. Wago connectors and water proof covers for plugs and components... Wired on series or paraell and can wire a dimmer, unless you chose a driver that already has the dimmer built in. It's fairly simple, I would tell anyone interested in LED lighting, try to build your own first before buying from a company.

Yeah it’s certainly an option. I’ve been building lights and making guides on it since 2016, but things are much different now. There were no quality lights available back then so if you wanted something efficient you’d have to build it yourself. Now we have such a huge assortment of top notch premade lights, it’s a lot easier to just buy. If you have the time to dedicate and know electricity well enough to design and build a light that’s safe, it’s pretty damn rewarding. If you’re short on time or not familiar with electricity, I’d say buy one instead.

@ZeitGeist_TV
@ZeitGeist_TV Жыл бұрын
Sagging is due to it being a single support bar having to hold the weight of the light. It would be wise of Migro to move from a single center bar to a double hold bar with one at each end. I don't think it will have any bad implications the way it's currently sold though it would be wise to not move much without supporting both ends of the light.

Hmm it's £1200 to fit a 4x8.. I'd rather just drop the extra £300 - £600 for build quality at that rate. The flex would bug me too much. How hard would it be to have the same set up but with some kidn of side support running along the outside to keep it straight? Surely not too expensive.

@@LEDGardener I have been super impressed with your automation videos! I was just hoping for more of them. I understand that these LED review videos are easier to rip out, since you're just reading off collected data, and you've spent good $$$ on your sensor setup. But does that mean LED light review is going to be the primary focus of this channel going forward? That may be great for casual viewing but all your subscribers likely already have their lights sorted out. Wouldn't you think?

The channel was mostly built centered around building lights and doing reviews if you look back through the video history - automation is a fun avenue that I’m exploring and I do intend to continue it. My automation videos really don’t get many views though and it’s hard to stay motivated to continue them with only a few thousand views per video, given the amount of effort they take compared to lights. I do appreciate your feedback though. I considered creating a new channel dedicated only to automation so people know exactly what they’re getting - I decided against it at the time though because this channel is so small as it is.
