I also usually respond with “its not the worst thing ive put in my body” or some variation of that when people give me grief about it but im talking about MY sobriety, not someone else’s. But yeah that part was weird to me i guess bc i didnt think of vaping as something that would concern someone in that way. The meetings i go to literally have to put “no vaping during the meeting” in their chair person reading bc if they dont itll be so cloudy by the end lmao

I’m a recovered c0ke & h addict and I still smoke. it’s obviously not healthy but still way better than being addicted to multiple substances. smoking doesn’t mean relapsing at all, many ex addicts smoke. I do it because helps me to stay sober. I wish people who don’t know anything about addiction would just stop judging all the time.

Side note - not all vapes are nicotine… dude looked and acted kinda stoned tbh - still not an issue to me, pot should be legal everywhere, but he sure didn’t seem “sober”

I'm sorry if I come off as stupid but honestly don't know that much about makeup. So my daughter is at the age where she wants to use makeup daily. I let her use a tinted moisturiser that has 30SPF in it, so that isn't a "clean preservative free" product, but besides that product I only let her use (along with lip gloss or lip balm) a lip stain that is a "Clean, Preservative free" product; With the one, I let her use we keep it in the fridge and then every month (no matter how much is left in the container) I take it back to the store and the store completely empties the container then they sterilise the container and then they fill it up with freshly made product. Should I just buy her a lip stain that has preservatives in it? Or is it okay to keep using the one that I let her use because I make sure that it's constantly being refreshed (for a lack of better wording) Also, I'm really sorry if I've just confused you and I'm sorry if what I've written makes absolutely zero sense. @@Ayesha18731 I'm not a professional but preservatives really aren't that bad. It's your own decision whether or not to continue with using the lip products but isn't it much more of a hassle to keep makeup in the fridge and having to constantly refill? The worry with not having preservatives is the makeup going bad but you put it in the fridge and that's all well and good but my worry is contamination and it really is dubious as to when the products actually expire or if the tube is thoroughly cleaned and sanitized when refilled. It also sounds more cost effective to just buy a good brand of products but if you're worried then make sure to test the products first to make sure there are no reactions. Depending on your daughter's age (I assume a pre-teen maybe) you should let her experiment because childhood is where you can really find what works for you and it also lets her be more creative. I'm not saying she should be doing full glam but let her experiment with some simple eyeshadows and teach her proper skincare especially when removing makeup properly. Overall I don't think there's a problem as long as the products are safe and by a reputable brand and it is never stupid to ask questions, people remain stupid when they don't. I hope you have a good day and I hope my English is legible as it is not my first language. TL;DR: Do what you think is best but I recommend you research, it would be a nice bonding activity for both of you to learn together. :)

If she did an ounce of research, she’d also know plenty of people are “Cali sober” and partake in smoking weed, yet remain sober from their addiction to coke, heroin, etc. ❤️ Hopefully she’ll learn something from this!!

@@HealthyObbsession I am not stating whether it is right or not, just that rehabs (even great ones who don’t victim shame) will often allow it as a means to wean instead of cold turkey. The point is it’s very widespread not considered a relapse to vape or use nicotine products, and nobody else should be defining someone else’s recovery (and certainly not strangers on the internet who aren’t involved in that persons treatment at all). I don’t think anyone should point a relapse out at all, it’s not our business, but nicotine is certainly not the same as alcohol or pills or what he was being treated for, by American treatment centers (and he’s in the US). Idk why you felt the need to argue with me, I’m not saying nicotine is great and everyone should vape, I’m just saying judging him for that is silly period.

I also want to add that everyone has an opinion on what is clean and sober. Ppl get shamed for being on suboxone or ADHD medications like adderall, for smoking etc. But trying to dictate what other people can do or not in their recovery when you aren’t their doctor isn’t cool. We need to stop shaming ppl who are trying their best to get clean. If you think nicotine is the same kind of addiction as heroin idk what to tell you lmao but psychiatrists and therapists would definitely disagree

@@HealthyObbsessioni mean yes nicotine is an addictive substance but it's not a mood or state altering substance the same as alcohol, cannabis, or H and so on you can get addicted to caffeine as well, do you have just as staunch reactions to the people in your life drinking coffee? let people in recovery have their cigarettes dude. if they shouldn't, then a professional will inform them. you judging them or spreading the rhetoric you're using just shames them which is the opposite of helpful "healthyobbsession" is your username but maybe you could take 10 seconds to read into addiction recovery to recognize how important mental health, feeling safe, and having a sense of control can be to recovery and if smoking cigarettes gives someone in recovery control, let them smoke just like you'd let them have a cup of coffee
