Documenting Hip-Hop culture matters. In a world where print media has seemed to have taken a hit, it is still imperative that we document our culture in physical form for historical purposes. The digital world moves so quickly that many pieces of history can be lost in the social media’s news cycle or just simply edited over time. According 2 Hip-Hop has worked diligently to resolve this issue and the answer comes in the form of our Hip-Hop Yearbook. Hip-Hop history needs to be documented in real-time to highlight the entirety of Hip-Hop for the whole calendar year. Year by year we will document our history as we develop a library of Hip-Hop History that can always go back to our book collection and check out. With a start of a new decade, 2021 became perfect to start this tremendous journey. The yearbook includes Top 20 Hip-Hop Songs Of The Year, Top 20 Rap Verses Of The Year, Top 20 Hip-Hop Albums Of The Year, and more.

I would love to see Jay do an interview with somebody like Doggie Diamonds. Somebody thts going to ask him questions about the MUSIC, this is hip hop, we all know about his business savvy. He's a giant in the culture, he's not bigger than the culture.

The difference between Jay-z and Nas is the difference between making music for the love of money and making music for the love of music. With this unprecedented run Nas is currently on, Jay-z is looking at his rap mortality for the first time. His desire has all but vanished while the musical fire in Nas is burning brighter over time than it ever has. Before King's Disease I, in Jay's mind he was the unquestioned GOAT. But with Nas dropping Magic and King's Disease III on the way, even Jay-z has to face reality...... Nas is the GOAT. Jay-z is like the Dallas Cowboys and so are his fans comparatively. Just like that team and fanbase, you can only talk about their greatness in past tense. But the hype train and media puts things out there like they've accomplished greatness in recent memory. Many fans are delusional and choose to ignore the facts that don't support their delusion. Jigga's time might have passed because his flame is more of a flicker because he's lost his desire and never realized it until Nas dropped King's Disease I.

There's no way anybody has a career like Jay Z if it's just about the money and the notion that Jay is not making music because of Nas is one of the most stupid things I've ever heard. Nas was making albums way better then anything he's done with Hitboy while Jay was dropping classic material for over 2 decades.

@@leroygreen6310 it’s like how they said Prince and Michael. They drop music differently and that’s okay. Jay will eventually come back out. He doing it on his own time when he feel it needs to be dropped. While Nas will just keep pumping out music. Both ways is okay

The whole Interview was cap because Kevin Hart is a friend so, it was nothing more than an ass kissing flower shower.. He's not doing music now because he's not inspired and he knows there's NOT a strong enough desire for new Jay-Z music that would sell the #'s he'd need to recoup on all the production and promotion he'd put into it. Jay-Z can't put out a "MAGIC" album even if he tried, and it wouldn't be received like Nas anyway. Jay-Z is too big to fail so, he can't take big sonic risks like a all b-side type album. Jay-Z is a business man first artist second. His business strategies are more creative and artistic than his music is now and that's pretty much what the interview was about.

Didn’t Jay Z warn his crew about 50 Cent and Get Rich or Die Tryin’ taking over everything? I think he said they all should put out their projects before it hit. I remember hearing that. So waiting out this Nas run instead of dropping in the middle of is surely a Jay Z type move. That’s if I got that memory right l. With that said, I still think he’s working on something. It may never see the light of day but he’s working in his head at least.

Jay has been rapping tho. He was all over jay electronica album. That was not long ago. He’s been on some of biggest rappers albums. Let’s be honest jay z can’t try and make club records at 53. No one wants to hear that shit. So for the first time in his career he has to dig deep and just keep an interested rapping about life and things we care about in our society. He’s never done that. He’s never pushed himself artistically. His content doesn’t really change. Only on 4:44 where he had to address his infidelities.

He got nothing more to brag about. He's not a great story teller, never been to much of a concept writer, his attempt to being conscious rapper didn't go well mass wise, Pharrell timbo Swiss or Ye got anything left in the tank for a big commercial success.... its probably best he do interviews to satisfy his fans that they can reminisce on his blueprint and black album impact.

🎯, I suspect he's rekindling his forgotten friendship with Hitboy on the low to keep tabs, he sees and hears the Nas praise - it still bothers him. At JayZ's core is insecurity, which is why he bit so many styles over the years and he really cares what people think. I'm sure that even though it was Kevin's interview, JayZ had the final edit say so. You're right, if JayZ has something to say, he should just do interviews, those that care will tune in.

@@ChiChi-jg1ch I definitely feel what ur saying. Most of his fans won't see it that way because Jay is all they know. They even go as far as trying to even listen to Nas music because they hear his praise. So avoidance is real with them. As far as Jay hitting up hitboy, I could see it but that would be too too obvious to the woke ones who already call him a biter. The case should be close if ur a real hip hop guy who the real guy is in that number 1 spot
@kc-zf1jp
@kc-zf1jp Жыл бұрын
@@ChiChi-jg1ch The same old 🐂bull narrative of being a biter. Y'all really need to let that go. Accept the fact that he's versatile and can switch flows and sound great. The monster of the double entendre, his swag. And he can be conscious if he choose to. Those are the things that separate him from Nas and have me more of a fan of his over Nas. I just enjoy Jays music more. And I love Nas as well. He's definitely a 🐐. There's no denying that. Jay also is still capable of creating great music. Maybe family life, 50+, and just overall bordem slowed him down. But the man I believe he is with his ego won't allow this Nas wave to just continue on. I believe he'll get inspired to make more music. Even though him and Nas seem to have made a friendship, it's still competition that's fuels them both.
