These guys really got me into jumping rope back in October. Now at almost January it’s crazy the development that has taken place. Not only did I lose body fat and improy cardiovascular conditioning, but my calves which were already naturally muscular and developed are now extremely lean and vascular. They look amazing and it’s something I never anticipated as a benefit from jumping rope. If you are a beginner follow this channel and try the workouts for yourself, excellent content as always!

@@JumpRopeDudes You fellows need to bring in heavy weight skippers, u fellows are maybe 185lbs, as opposed to 235-265 lbs...There is a big difference with skipping at this weight if one is a natural heavyweight....Outstanding channel, better than that string bean Rush, although he is impressive, he does not cater to heavy weights either...

@@yjy5448 I've got two mates that are heavyweights and I'm a spindly 67kg. Both those big lads skip far better than me! I think, just like with running, the only adjustment you need to make is reducing the volume of your training. The extra weight is extra load into every joint and muscle. And especially in the lower legs and feet that'll mount up. Build the length and frequency of your workouts steadily over time. Rest frequently. Do other strengthening exercises. Be patient.

Check Roberto Durán skipping rope. Probably the best lightweight boxer of all time, and one of Tyson's favorite boxers. In fact, the way Mike trained with the rope was pretty much a tuned down version of Duran (because as a heavyweight, there's only so much speed you can get to, even if you're Mike fucking Tyson)

@@Emilianoo8 this is far too simplistic an assessment. I'm a Duran fanboy, I'll confess, but Duran's best work was at lightweight. They met at welterweight. Leonard went on to fight at light heavyweight. And Duran still took a W in the first meeting.

@@TheRealDyscyples that's a bit like saying "the other guy only won because he worked harder". Which is how you win in sports. As I said in my other comment, I'm a Duran fanboy. He brought me to the sport as a kid, so I'll always be biased. But that's a crappy defence.

Hey Jump Rope Dudes or I should say Zen Dudes, thanks for your amazing tutorials. Around 2 months ago, I couldn't skip for shit. After watching your videos, I trained and I have come a long way of sustaining 15 minutes of jumping ropes from not being able to skip at all. Though the results are not very visible (due to the fact I am already on the leaner side-130 lbs), but the gains in stamina feel amazing. I am pretty sure if I can work up my way to 30 minutes of intense jumping ropes, the results would start showing. Also I had a querie, do the jump rope tricks like running in place, boxer skips, Criss cross, double under or jump squats provide any other additional benefit other than style? If not, then I'll focus on getting my basic jump ropes perfect and build up the stamina and flexibility this year, so I can take on other fancy tricks next year. Thanks once again for these videos and Happy New year.

Evil Morty - GREAT STUFF! Results don't always have to be visible and 2 months isn't a TON of time to get visible results! Keeeeep going and make sure you are eating to support your goal. Tricks, aside from looking really cool, do have a few other benefits. They are helping with your agility and coordination. On top of that, they are even MORE effective because you are recruiting more muscles to the execute... Run in place is good, but criss cross run in place requires you to use many more muscles!

This was like 2.0 needed, at least for me: i literally taught myself the squat jump just by watching videos of Tyson doing it - i tried and pretty soon picked it up with no trouble. Lucky me ;-)

Tyson's books, Undisputed Truth in particular, are definitely worth reading. You want inspiration for jumping rope? Learn how the kid everyone used to hate on went to the very top, fell, and then got back up

probably, or an existing issue. jump rope is low impact, jumping 1-2" off the ground shouldn't hurt you

Kenney Pierrelouis - google it, let us know what you find. Jump rope burns a TON of calories and if you are trying to lose fat and get super lean, you need to eat in a small calorie deficit and burn calories... that makes jump rope super effective (And it's fun).
