Fishing_With_BIG-D Thanks. I tried to make it really easy to follow unlike some other videos I found.

The key is not used. The 2 bolts in the coupler are what is going to hold the coupler in place.

This was a big mistake, leaving the key out and relying on tightening two course thread bolts on a keyway. I have the same kit, and used the key, which is obvious to all with any experience assembling power equipment. Yours may hold for a while, but will eventually loosen, and with damaged keyway will be difficult to install key later.

Also, now that I watched the whole video, you should always apply the marine grease to the splines both at the engine and midpoint between the shafts. rather than anti-seize. These parts need to slide at times and will never be welded together by heat if you keep them greased at assembly. Grease should also be applied inside the cap, not to the shaft part, so that a large grease plug will be injected to the splines. The way you did it, no grease would get injected. I used mine with the same john boat you have, only I stiffened the transom greatly using a 2 by 12 c-clamped to the transom. The transom on this boat is not strong enough to use that engine alone. Also, you need a lag screw to hold the engine down for high speed, since you will be pulling up on the tiller. I put a screw into my 2 by 12. I recorded speed of 17 mph average with same rig as yours, so worked well, but hard to handle due to bad balance of the rig. Engine needs to move back about 2 inches to balance at full speed, and no way to do that with that rig. I use my mud skipper on another boat all the time just fine. It has a heavy wood mounting bracket that is vertical, which works much better. Have fun.
