It’s not fair that we’re only “young” for such a short period of our lives. My dad used to always tell me growing up, “You’ll be an adult a lot longer than you’ll be a kid - don’t rush it.”
@Brandi.AlicexX
@Brandi.AlicexX 3 ай бұрын
I tell my son that. He’s still little, but it’s also my answer when I let him stay babied a bit longer. You’ll be an adult a lot longer than you’ll be a kid. ❤
@tlh0121

@@Brandi.AlicexX yes! I’m always telling this to my 8-year-old daughter (who is already growing up at super sonic speed), but it usually goes in one ear and right out the other - just as it did when my dad told me as kid. We all want to be grown so bad, but once we get there we cry about how unfair it is that adulthood is 3 x’s longer than childhood lol.

My "baby" girl is going to be 21 next month & I often find myself thinking "God, where does the time go...?" I work at a Grocery store & when I see all the wittles, as I like to call them, lol, "Don't grow up!! It's a trap!" When the older ones ask me why, I simply say "Because then alllll you do is work & pay taxes!" 😂😉

I am 64 years old and I got so emotional watching this. Thinking back to my wild days and the fun I had in my 20's. Now I am nursing my bad back and basically watching myself grow old. I wouldn't change anything and even this stage of my life is okay even though things are different. Thank you Miley for writing a beautiful song that even a 64 year old can relate to.

I love how she sings the word "young." It's exactly how it should be sung with no embellishments, innocent sounding, simple and clean. And that machine gun vibrato hasn't been done as well since Grace Slick and Stevie Nicks.

If it makes you feel any better, I was **very** crazy; I raved for days on end, sometimes weeks, I traveled insane distances just to party at a new place for a night with no way back home, and now in my late 30s all I can think is I wish I did it more, held onto it more while it lasted, and could do it again. Youth is never enough, it always goes by too fast, and you never appreciate it when you have it.

Chronic pain and illness cut my young years way too short. Couldn’t describe how I feel about it in a song better really. I look back of when i felt beautiful, when my body looked good because I could work out back then, when I was in love, when I travelled, and more importantly when I was so happy. And I’m tired of looking back at ‘the good years’ all the time. I do everything I can in my power to change things, but sometimes the mountain is just bigger than you. Thanks for giving me some lyrics to ‘feel’ to, rather than keeping my mind busy all the time. I love you mileyyyyy

Yes completely. This was already an emotional song for me, but it wasn’t until I read your post that I understood that I feel another layer of disappointment and loss listening to this. My health has robbed me of the wild young and free days that Miley describes. Between my health issues, depression and more, I’ve never had wild and free days. I feel loss and longing for days I never had and fear for the upcoming years that everyone warns you about. I’m 28 and already exhausted. I was done at 18 and had to fight against my desire to give up in order to keep going. So while people like Miley think about the “wild years” when they were young, people like us mourn the times we lost and are bracing ourselves for the rest of this.

The Hannah Days, the infamous photoshoot, the Cant be tamed MV, the Departure from Disney, the VMAs performance, the Bangerz Era, the dead pets era, the change in her music, the heartbreaks she went through and then 2023 when she took her crown back. Miley Cyrus, you are a legend who has inspired millions (including me, a kid from India who grew up watching you, started an online disney fan club & then became a youtube creator because of it). Exactly. Growing up a star in Hollywood and the fickle music world is never easy. She had an identity crisis and broke free from her Disney beginning but went a bit too wild. Now she’s matured out and knows who she is more. I also think Dolly Parton has been a good mother figure to her and helped straighten her out. This video touched me. ❤️

She's 30, this to me is like an homage to her youth. Yes 30 is still young, but your 20s are still pretty wild. 30's people typically start settling more. I love it and I think Miley is so smart for releasing this exactly how she did. Her discography is amazing really. 💖

No. Being young is a decision and also she is so young, I am 27, almost 28 and my life haven't even started yet, I am yet to have parties one day, go wild, have my first job, build my life from the scratch, build my body, workout, change my mentality... In 30s I will be so young, in 40s I will be young but settling, in 50+ my mind will stay young. At 27/28 I look 18/19, just as Miley looks like 25 in her 30s.

Trust in Jesus, Hell is real and eternal! This is what the Bible says about it.. "The Son of Man will send out his angels, and they will weed out of his kingdom everything that causes sin and all who do evil. They will throw them into the blazing furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth." Matthew 13: 41-42 Jesus Christ is the only way to heaven "I am the way, the truth, and the life no one comes to the father but by me." John 14:6 Ask God to reveal this to you- He will! "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." Romans 3:23 ADMIT THAT YOU'RE A SINNER. We've all broken God's laws and ten commandments.. "Thou shalt not lie, steal, covet, dishonor parents, take God's name in vain.."(Exodus 20) We do not have righteousness on our own to get to heaven, "God made him (Jesus) who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God." 2 Cor. 5:21 Godly sorrow leads to genuine repentance for sinning against the righteous God and there is a change of heart, we change our mind and God changes our hearts and regenerates us from the inside out. God is deadly serious about sin, when we genuinely repent we hate sin just as God hates it, and we turn away from it. "But God commended His love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us." Romans 5:8 BELIEVE IN YOUR HEART THAT JESUS CHRIST DIED FOR YOUR SINS, WAS BURIED, AND THAT GOD RAISED JESUS FROM THE DEAD. This is trusting with all of your heart that Jesus Christ is who he said he was. He saves us from sin and hell and brings us into a relationship with him. We become God's children. We are saved from hell, eternal death. "For whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved." Romans 10:13 CALL UPON THE NAME OF THE LORD. Every single person who ever lived since Adam will bend their knee and confess with their mouth that Jesus Christ is Lord, the Lord of Lords and the King of Kings. Read the Bible, Walk with the Lord and give your life to Him!

I don’t think people realize how deep this song is. The growth she shows as a person and as a artist is amazing. When you’re young you don’t realize how your behavior, actions, and decisions effect you but also how it can effect others. In that process of the ones unawareness its detrimental to your spirit, mental health, physical health, and faith. When you grow you have to sacrifice, and become obedient. Sometimes you have to fight demons, learn to let go, heal, and have self control over yourself and emotions. It’s a tough process but required for the good of all and for you to be blessed with something good on a good foundation. It’s the toughest walk to take as a person when you grow to your full potential and the best version of yourself. Congratulations to Miley! She deserves it and I’m proud of her!

I'm 38, male, and I've hardened up a bit since being young. What I mean is, I did not think I would ever be looking for a Miley Cyrus song on YT. She made me fk'ing cry. As soon as I saw her tears, mine came. That's never happened in my entire life, I swear. I'm always thinking about age, and how fast time moves. I've gotta take a walk. Every person who has approached 30+ gets what she wants to say. The message is clear and touching. She's far from being old, but now she is a grown up woman like most of us and more mature such as her music. Miley has always been a joy to watch, even the "old days".

Watching her tear up broke my heart 💔😢 I just wanted to give her a hug and tell her it'll get better. And it has!! I'm just so proud of the woman she's become. I hope she has bo regrets.

LYRICS: The truth is bulletproof There's no fooling you I don't dress the same Me and who you say I was yesterday Have gone our separate ways Left my living fast Somewhere in the past 'Cause that's for chasing cars Turns out open bars Lead to broken hearts And going way too far I know I used to be crazy I know I used to be fun You say I used to be wild I say I used to be young You tell me time has done changed me That's fine, I've had a good run I know I used to be crazy That's 'cause I used to be young Take one, pour it out It's not worth crying 'bout The things you can't erase Like tattoos and regrets Words I never meant And ones that got away Left my living fast Somewhere in the past And took another road Turns out crowded rooms Empty out as soon There's somewhere else to go, oh I know I used to be crazy I know I used to be fun You say I used to be wild I say I used to be young You tell me time has done changed me That's fine, I've had a good run I know I used to be crazy That's 'cause I used to be young I know I used to be crazy Messed up, but God, was it fun I know I used to be wild That's 'cause I used to be young Those wasted nights are not wasted I remember every one I know I used to be crazy That's 'cause I used to be young You tell me time has done changed me That's fine, I've had a good run I know I used to be crazy That's 'cause I used to be young

As a 50 year old woman listening to this song for the first time, I can actually relate to it. I can remember back through my life and how each part of it slowed and changed me, even still today. This is a beautiful song and could resonate with many.

I'm 30 and can relate. I also grew up watching Hannah Montana. My parents watched some of it with me too, but not much. I know my mom will be able to relate also and I cant wait to show her tomorrow. I think she will see the same things I do and feel the same things I do. I think anyone, mature enough, over 25 can probably relate this song.

This song hits deep. My 26 years old heart tears up. We grew up with her, attend her life-rollercoaster like stowaways, from "everybodys darling" to "#1 enemy in the media" to this beautiful and strong woman. We hear you, we listen, and we love you Miley. The true you, with all facets 🩷
