The song was written 99 years ago, and popularized 83 years ago by the Rock'N'Roll Hall of Famer Sister Rosetta Tharpe (Johnny Cash's favorite singer). The Sun Records Three have well-known Gospel roots, and Orbison was certainly a "spiritual" singer. All four men (as did Elvis) do themselves proud in their visits to Gospel.

From what I can dig up this was part of Johnny Cash's 1977 Christmas Special. Johnny was 45 years old, Carl Perkins was also 45, Jerry Lee Lewis was 42, and Roy Orbison was 41. 44 years later only Jerry Lee is still with us. But what a legacy they've all left.

There are some things that NEED to take place and leave an indelible imprint on your heart, mind and spirit. This Quartet of these bona-fide LEGENDS Singing this Gospel classic Glorifying the TRUE LIVING GOD JEHOVAH, is THAT event that needed to happen 🙏. RIP gentleman and thank you so much leaving us with the kind of music that can never be replaced!!

Watching in 2022...the belt buckles alone are valued at well over a million dollars. Toss in one JLL bow tie, RO Wayfarer, Carl's kilowatt smile and JC's leisure suit and you got yourself another million in todays money. We haven't even begin to price the value in the artists. Or the reason they gathered to honor another. (EP had left the building) ~ TIMELESS & priceless.
