I think the intro was exaggerating the dangers of the railroad juuuuuust a little bit. You don't have to do that. Just say "trains" and my fellow railfans and I will come running. Don't get me wrong, it IS dangerous work, with all those tons (or Tonnes) of freight balanced on two thin rails moving at breakneck speed, but they act like demons are going to swarm over the train and disassemble it piece by piece while it's going down the track.

With one ship load of iron ore, that's an estimated 12 million dollars per load in one ship.

I visited on an R&R in 1971 but the way Oz outlawed guns, and generally got super Fascist over the COVID-19 (it was make illegal to voice objection of silly government policies), has taken it off my bucket list.

Why Australia doesn't have double railway track for longer journey's instead of single track?

I would guess cost, both to build and to maintain. Particularly if the primary hangup is actually loading time and train assembly time, rather than number of trains that can get through. Sounds like they also use the sidings for crew changes and on-the-fly train maintenance. If you build a full double track, that's both redundancy and twice the places you can have issues.

So six train loads to fill the ship; each train is 3.5 to 4 million in ore yet the ship is only holding 10 million in ore . Did some fall off the train on the way there ?

What annoys me the most about these types of videos is how they over dramatize it to the point of ridiculousness and repeat the same crap over and over in a tone meant to hype up and stress the level of super duper urgency and alarm as if we were all idiot children.

The flat faced locomotives offer the crew no protection. In the event of a collision; not good. No crumple zone. They're locomotives; not city buses.
