I’ve always wondered if they would allow you to give instructions to the audience. I would say “If you aren’t sure of the answer, vote according to your birthday, A if it’s in the first quarter of the year, B if it’s in the second quarter, and so on.” Then an answer should stand out because it’s right, not because it’s more likely to be guessed at. Or, the votes would be nearly even, indicating that almost no one knew the answer.

The audience only chose that answer because it's the only name they recognised and not connected to the question at all.

Everyone slandering the audience needs to realise that the audience have to press an option, even if they are not sure. This means, any sort of clues in an answer will always sway the majority of the audience towards that answer. In this case, the Beaufort Scale is used for wind intensity and hence immediately something one can associate with meteorology, which likely swayed the majority audience to picking B, even if they were clueless

@@juliansydney9819 Jeremy said they have to press something. That should have been a clue to the guy that the audience can be highly unreliable. And for such a specific question, he should not have even asked them in the first place. The average person doesn't know this answer. Which is now confirmed by the 77% of the audience who didn't choose A.

The issue here is that not many people at all are going to know that answer and when people don't know they usually guess at something they've heard of. Most would have heard of the Beaufort scale (or the sea) and just felt maybe it was related to that. That was definitely worth another lifeline.

They can choose not to press any button at all if they dont know the answer, thats why sometimes some contestants and even the host say "Answer and push the button only if you know"... sadly here everyone guessed and just everybody pressed even though they dont know the answer, and also tbh he was kind of over confident which cost him everything, he should have taken the 50:50 to be sure.

You got it wrong here. Those in the Audience must press on one of the FOUR answers. If someone doesn't press on one of the Four answers given then, the Host ( Jeremy Clarkson, in this case ) will call out to my the Seat Numbered that person is sitting on and tell her/him to 'PRESS ON ONE OF THOSE FOUR BUTTONS'. So there, there is no escaping because, all 100 people in the Audience MUST Press one of these FOUR Answers Given.

The dude was already better than any audience member BROOOOOOO. 51% is not enough, and Jeremy said they have to press something. Seriously man. You DO NOT ask the audience questions like this. The average audience member will not know this answer. You ask them garbage pop culture questions. Not specific history things. He also should have led with a 50:50 first, or after. At least then with the off-chance that B was removed, they might go for another one. But because the audience picked B, it's unlikely they would have removed it after. They would have left A and B. But still..... BROOOOOOOOOOOOO. This was so painful to watch unfold. You could just see it happening in real time. From the moment he said ask the audience I knew it was going to be an absolute mess.
