The new hot ness LOL. For the price of the 3/8 Snap-on you can get both 1/4 and 3/8 Milwaukee's ratchets. They sent me the same two and I can't say enough good things about them. Love the videos look forward to the next one!

That seals the deal in my mind. It amazes me that there's still a market for 14.4 Snap On stuff. Not to mention the warranty differences.

Ingersolls ratchets will blow these away. Once you go Ingersoll you will never use anything else. My favorite thing about their tools is the ergonomics, they are so comfortable to work with. The R1120 is their 1/4" ratchet, it's Rpm is it's strongest attribute. The R3130 is the 3/8" ratchet, this thing is as tough as they come and I've tried them all, a fresh battery and it can smack you like a super duty air ratchet. And my most favorite is the W5330, it is their 3/8" right angle impact. I can't say enough good things about it, this will make any technician faster. It's 180 ftlbs of torque, the speed of an impact, and the form of a ratchet. I use it so much that I keep a backup just in case, because work would be slow and depressing without it lol.

The intent of the ratchet is tight spaces and convenience. The new ones are much heavier and larger in size(3/8). It sort of defeats the purpose of the tool...I wish the older version was brushless and FUEL( same size and weight) and it would be PERFECT!

Everyone’s entitled to their opinion, in the 1/4 department in my opinion the Snap on is killing it. I️ bought the Milwaukee 1/4 (old version) and I️ hated it so much. It was just so slow, when my driver showed me the new Snap on 1/4 with 35 lbs and 350rpm, it was an instant deal. He really got me when we tested them side by side and he drover in a screw faster than I️ did after giving me a 5 second head start. I️ bought the new 3/8 fuel ratchet and I’ve been crazy disappointed with it. It’s damn near useless and doesn’t break anything free. I reach for my air one first still (130 lbs and phenomenal and breaking your hands). But I️ bought the cordless for when I️ have to change a starter on a semi that’s stuck in the parking lot. Both are good ratchets, 3/8 fuel now outpowers Snap on, but man they’re a lot slower. To me Snap on definitely wins in 1/4. I’m glad you like your new ratchets better than I️ did!! I️ just really enjoy the speed and size of the Snap ons. Now my milwaukee impacts are the cats ass and will eat the Snap one for lunch. But that’s a different story
@flatratemaster
@flatratemaster 6 жыл бұрын
The Older ratchets Snap On did have a advantage, but I do not think with the new fuels they have any advantage, my opinion your mileage may vary, plus you work on trucks I work on cars, the largest trucks we work on maybe a 2500 truck on not that often.
@Sugarfryz
@Sugarfryz 6 жыл бұрын
Flat Rate Master the main reason I️ still like the Snap on is they spin faster. Both are good ratchets still. For me 1/4 Snap on wins, 3/8 milwaukee wins until Snap on updates the power. But to each their own, can’t go wrong with either.

I bought the 3/8 Milwaukee last week the tool is much stronger than the snap on 3/8 the only thing I have seen so far is that snap on has the free speed advantage for sure but I have the small battery that came with the kit and not the bigger one like you got

Only advantage I can see with the snappy ones is that over multiple replacements snap on flat fee for replacement even if you run it over vs Milwaukee (buy complete unit if out of warranty). What I don't get is if Milwaukee is so far ahead then why is Snap-On still selling alot of them, the ratchets. Possibly branding, sales skills of their franchisees which I will say is good with a good portion of them, the convenience of them being by shops weekly, being able to get a instant loaner, replacement or even upgrade with stuff going brushless with Snap-On finally which may have came a little to late though. Don't know why they waited so long especially with the impact tools market share they lost to Milwaukee. I noticed when Snap-On came out with the extended reach which I have only the 3/8 of Snap-On (body only purchase as I have batteries rebuilt for bad Snap-On batteries, cheaper this way) then Milwaukee came out with the extended reach which I got the 1/4 in version. I do have Milwaukee in the 3/8 and 1/2 drive impacts along with the brushed Snap-On ones in same drive sizes. I did have my Snap-On 1/2 drive impact go out and it was Appx $116 + tax and they went thru and rebuilt it. BAd part about the Snap-On half inch drive impact going bad is it wouldn't even loosen a pt cruiser wheel bearing nut but the Snap-On 3/8 drive spun it right off and rather quickly so I knew it was toast. With having both brands and drives along with extended drive ratchets I can honestly say that as long as I'm alive I'll probably never have to replace them again which itself is a good thing. Just curious and taking a guess that you're sponsored by Milwaukee in regards to them supplying your Milwaukee tools to you based on a comment in the video? IF so does this affect your reviews at times or not as I don't know if they have set terms with people (video influencers) they invite and/or bring to their tool reveal shows and who they supply tools to for videos, reviews, etc? I frankly don't know how that works and whether they have those involved sign NDA's or not. I do know both brands ratchets short, extended reach and both drive sizes can be used as ratchets which I love as it saves time on certain things given one has the room to use them as a ratchet vs having to switch from a breaker bar/ratchet to the cordless ratchet which can cost more time when we're all trying to save time. I still use and I'm hoping / guessing many others still use their air ratchets? Can't wait for the new M12 impact ratchet to be released. I have he M18 and it's a beast. Recently acquired the m12 - 90 degree die grinder / cutoff tool (late 2019) & this past week my new m12 straight die grinder arrived at the house. Can't wait to put that thru the trials. I have noticed as soon as I removed it, the straight die grinder from the box that the upper and lower body as some movement as they seem to be two halves mounted together. Wonder if this is something that Milwaukee is doing to allow them to repair them easily but also use the battery body housing's with multiple style tools? Has anyone else noticed this?

When my old Milwaukee ratchet gave up the ghost I got a pro-mo deal on the new 1/4 and 3/8 Snap On ratchets. I like them but I should have waited and tried these new Milwaukee ratchets.

Milwaukee did win their lawsuit they filed against Snap On too.Snap On infringed on 3 patents Milwaukee has the rights to and was awarded 28.7 million dollars.I do love my 1/4 drive Milwaukee fuel ratchet a lot,has retired my 1/4 air ratchet.Have used it under the hood,taking out screws in certain body part areas.Includes during a radiator replacement in a 1999 Jeep Wrangler.Next one will be the 3/8 Fuel ratchet I am going to purchase.

Milwaukee hasn't won anything. It will still be years before we ever know if Snap-On will actually have to pay Milwaukee anything.

I just started working at John Deere and the truck came rolling around. I was in shock at the damn prices! I understand they come to you but how busy is your day where you can't be bothered to make a trip to the nearest home depot or Lowe's? About half the price and fucking exceptional warranty. I'm a Milwaukee fan

Chris Juarez or better yet, buy Carlyle stuff and then when the Napa car comes to deliver your parts, if you have a busted tool, just give it to them and they’ll bring you a new one.

I wonder if they would handle being dropped vs snap on? I personally prefer my snap on air ratchets because of the all metal body because I tend to just toss them on the floor. My snap on 9.6v drill driver seems to handle being dropped and tossed around just fine.
