The Milwaukee 3/8 stubby has been in my tool box since I first began a few years ago. The thing is practically indestructible and it's worth it's weight in gold.

Just a home diy/hobbyist. Got the stubby and recently the high torque High torque is for Axel nuts, suspension ans engine mounts. Great go too in addition to the 3/8" stubby thay does everything else. Agree with u sir. If I was doing this for a living I would use the mid torque over the high torque too given its light weight abs rely on an air gun when doing Axel nuts crank bolts etc

For the high torque one, which I have, I down graded the battery to a smaller one due to the weight. Since I ama DIY I don't need it to run 8 hours a day, so smaller battery helps. Still rips through bolts and nuta but it take a bit of the weight. Gives it more top balance and less weight on the wrist.

Everyone thought I was foolish buying the 1/2 anvil Mid-Torque over the high torque. More portable for junkyard and race track duties, more than enough power for most jobs. A hell of a lot easier on my wrists too. Whatever the Mid torque can't handle is either supplemented with the fire wrench or a 1/2 pneumatic gun. Between the mid-torque and the 3/8 stubby I have not found a niche that justifies the cost of the other tools yet.

This was just what i needed. i dont have an air compressor and i already own and love the stubby. But i'm now looking for a mid or high torque and i will def. be getting the high torque. Just that 1% of the time the Mid might not be enough, I would wish i got the high torque instead, and i will def. still be using the stubby 90% of the time anyway, so handy.

LOVE my 1/2 stubby m12. Can do 80% of everything I throw at it. I have the high torque but only used it a few times, plus I use torque sticks so air is ideal

I love Milwaukee to death. But the more and more I use my 3/8 M12 stubby, the more I want to upgrade to the M18 3/8 compact. Power has been an issue, mainly with brake caliper bracket bolts. And also keeping the batteries to actually stay in the tool when impacting something has become annoying.

I grab my 3/8 stubby for everything. Even stuff I know it won’t take off, but I still gotta try!! 😂

I have all four too. I totally agree mid-torque and stubby are the way to go.

Great advice. I have all but the compact and those 3 take care of everything. The stubby is my go to though. It will do my lug nuts too. All great tools and each has its place. Thanks for sharing!

My son has the high torque, it is a beast. But it’s kinda big & heavy. I have the mid torque, it’s a nice impact. Love it !

Just picked up the 3/8 stubby yesterday. Honestly kinda useless. Thing is pretty much gutless. Couldn't even take a rotor screw out this morning. Grabbed my 3/8 stubby air impact and it came right out. Just use it for small under hood work. I've used my coworkers high and mid torque just playing around at times and didnt like them. Honestly, it's not for me. I'll keep dragging the air hose around haha that's just me though.

I’m not a fan of the mid torque. Maybe I got a dud from the factory, but man that thing can’t do any more than my stubby and I find that a big disappointment. Like I said, maybe I got a dud.

I work at a shop, half the time the mid torq can't break loose lugnuts. don't know if mine is defective but oh well.

the m12 stubby honestly has been underwhelming since i got it when it comes to power. also its an m12 and the batteries are straight garbage when it comes to design and staying in the tool. i love the m18 milwaukee stuff i have, the high and mid torques. im switching all my m12 power tools to snap on brushless and it simply because the battery issue.

If your dealing with rust you need the high torque, stubby is a beast for smaller stuff and for a mid torque you gotta get the new DeWalt! 👍

oh like my air impact it's a bolt breaker it eats exhaust studs for breakfast

My Ridgid high torque has my 9ah battery. Thing pulls down my pants if I use the belt hook 🤣

I’m going to be a service driver for triple a, would you recommend getting the mid torque basically just for lug nuts But I’m just unsure on bigger cars
