Milwaukee has a very nice socket set no skip from 8 mm all the way up to 36 mm. Costing me 1/3 of what I paid for my old set on the tool truck. Very nice to work with and I can identify them real easy. Thanks for the video Tim and nice job Milwaukee

And then that 1 day you do get a customer and their vehicle requires a 20mm you will either have it or you won't this is why buying an entire library of all the socket sizes is the absolute best. Or buy some socket rails and put them in your existing pack out system and not spend even more money for a box you already have 🤷 but I guess in recent times, people have used much less logic when purchasing items than ever before. It's a neat setup but who "needs" it?? This is another "look at me" item, nothing more. Great video as always, very thorough review. Great job!!!

Unless you are looking to buy a set to keep mobile, then it is a perfect set. They also are selling the trays for people who have the sockets already then can make their own system. I agree there is no reason to purchase if you don't need it. I have been looking to have a mobile set and need a 3/8 set and was hoping for something like this. I may just buy the trays and build my own set from another brand. I havent decided.

It’s why I love my WERA IMPAKTOR socket set. They call their color coding “stay calm” colored sockets. All of their sockets in the respective sizes are the same color. Like, the non impaktor 10mm is the same color stripe as the non impaktor 10mm. Love it “stay calm” haha

Personally i wish they would offer them in the plain plastic case like the chrome sockets come in, Blow mold cases take up too much room, they could even improve on those cases too and make it more square/rectangular with a fold up handle or a soft one. If you are a mobile mechanic you will hate the cases that these sockets come in, especially the 8 piece 3/4" impact sets. I chucked my boxes and end up putting them on a rails instead. In my toolbox drawer i could probably fit about 20 sets on rails where you would only manage to fit 2 of the blow mold cases.

I’m confused, are you using a separate box to store all these sockets? Because I don’t think what Milwaukee built was made for this? No criticism, just wondering if you swapped out the box a long with taking tools from. Separate kits? I’m spending my life savings on this storage unit because I know it’s versatile, but I don’t like being told one thing when you’re selling another.

they wasted so much space in this packout, they should have made the thin packout model just a tiny bit taller, cuza the actual pipes takes almost no space in this box, but all the plastic eats it up.

Yup, it really doesn’t seem very well designed to me. A lot of people doing foam designs seem to be very inefficient. I want things to be very close together so I can fit lots more stuff in there. Foam should let you put the parts very close together without them hitting against each other. My personal preference is the half sized Packout boxes. I have one with my Bosch installation driver, 80 bits, some screws, and drills.

The 1/2 set you have doesn’t look like it’s got the removable tray…..The fact they didn’t include the shallow sockets sucks. Sometimes you need both of the same size on a bolt. At least a 10mm~28mm would've been nice because alot of Axle Nut Socket Sets are 29mm and up, so I have just did away with Milwaukee impacts... The SAE however going from 3/8~1. 1/2" is Excellent... Tekton on the other hand has INCREDIBLE SETS!!! Amazing! And their Durability is top notch! Milwaukee, Tekton and few others seem to be the best in DURABILITY AND STRENGTH tests... If you are a true professional for a career. You will come across every single socket size. Why does millwaukee not make every single size socket shallow and deep to sell it as 1 unit. True pros that do not wanna go out and collect packs and just want the entire library of sizes and hunt them down and buy individual packs. German and Japanese chineese brands sell complete sets. Does not matter what the price is. SAE and Metrics should be both available in complete sets

I've only ever had American cars my whole life and they've been all metric. I like the groove big numbers and the paint inside them but you got to be totally out of it to not realize when you have a whole number you're picking up a metric as opposed to when you see a fraction you're on SAE. These sockets do have the biggest easiest to read numbers out of any out there I have a small set. I think they're kind of overpriced for Taiwanese or Chinese made tools I forgot where they're from. For the price I'll get American made sockets

The real reason sets like this exist are the idiots that buy them. Why buy a portable tool set that needlessly wastes most of its internal storage space??? It makes no sense. Why not instead have ALL of the sockets on rails? The tool set could then be made a tiny fraction of its original size. Or the same box could instead accommodate impact(s) and other tools as well. Why do the sockets need to be kept physically distanced from each other, or require foam protection??? They're IMPACT SOCKETS ffs... It is probably for the same marketing reason that children's toys are also supplied in massively oversize colourful boxes - when the item is sitting on the store display shelf, it's to persuade people to "buy me"... And why does the set really need a see-through lid? Marketing answer: to allow the owner to admire them, or to show them off to his/her mates. It's more of a presentation case than a toolbox...
