Looking forward to the trip videos! I incorporated your hiker daily movement routine into my training for a multi-day hike I did last month. It was the most strenuous trip I've ever done, and I managed to completely avoid any foot pain, which has plagued me in the past. I attribute a lot of that to your routine! Thanks and good luck on the rest of the trail.

Good to see your gear is being tested in all weather conditions 👍 I eventually moved up to the Suunto9 to navigate and track at the same time, worth a look.

You always do your best, at your own optimal comfortable speed. I would definitely slow down relax enjoy it and I’ll bet your progress is at least as good if not better. I just did a exciting ascent in the rain and the cinematic results were the best I’ve ever had! I hope you’ll watch it when it comes out!!!

Lovely to hear about your adventures, thank you! Kareem is a splendid chap loaning you all that gear and I'm especially interested in your new diet. I do worry when folk are out hiking or biking living on sugar jelly worms or such like, it isn't proper food now is it. Take care and we'll look forward to your next news.

Hey Buddy, having done the gr11 this year i know what it feels like being in a thunderstorm and also being “unnecessarily” hanging around ;D you said it yourself, don’t make any arbitrary couch goals the reason to judge your performance. Enjoy yourself! I have been and still am learning a lot from you! So thank you, be safe, enjoy yourself! Hope to see you soon’

Loved this casual style, and good news all around! Fantastic I've been using a Garmin smartwatch for the last year, tracks all the standard metrics. I've liked it overall. Definitively not life changing, but it has been a massive save on my phone battery life. A full charge on the watch will last 3-7 DAYS... hard for a modern phone to compete with them small screens

I was waiting for you to say that Kareem gave you his watch lol. I just finished up the most technical hike I've ever done along the highest mountain ridge in the eastern U.S. My ankles would not have made it without your videos! Almost rolled them 3 times, but quickly reacted and they bounced right back due to all the training I've done.

Yes you should get a coros watch, they are great. I have a Coros Apex 46 and I love it for every activity I do, from running to hiking to mountainbiking to road cycling it's great.

@jantomaszrogala42302 жыл бұрын
good to see you and hear from you again Chase, I use Coros, it's a fantastic watch, you can actually also upload your trail to the watch and follow it, it does keep you on the trail perfectly but not give you the overview like you have in the app on the phone, but saves the phone battery seriously; my coros lasts for up to four hiking days on average. last year I switch my 40gr exped inflatable pillow(supossed to be the lightest in the world) to Sea to summit Aeros Down Pillow Regular, it's 70gr but it's sooo worthy, the little bit of down make such a difference, so much nicer and my sleep so much better. sending good thoughts your way, enjoy the trail :)

BTW, liteway make custom packs, after using the same like yours, elementum for a year, I also have some improvements in mind, but one thing I made myself is the stow-on-the-go system like all the osprey have, it works great for me, very practical, when I want to put away my poles because I look at the maps, or take photos or eat snack or just don't need the poles at given moment, no stopping and wasting time

really waiting for fasciitis video. i have never had this problem, but week ago i started my 7 days hike.for the first time i used my altra's (Timp 2) i really loved them because of cushioning ant wide front. but maaan my feet hurt so much i couldnt even walk anymore after 2 days. i thought it may be because of the shoes, so i got my old ones sent to me ( simple hiking boots with ankle suport and no the zero drop ones) and never felt the same pain. got some blisters because they are narrow, but you cant compare the pain of fasciitis

Try getting the pack in Challenge EPL Ultra200 - way more durable than XPac whilst weighing less, completely waterproof and the seams can easily be taped. Also made from environmental friendly materials.

Bummer about the weather. Hopefully having no tent inner isn't causing too much misery. If what you showed in your prior video is what you're diet has consisted of I'm not sure I'd place full blame on the meals. You could certainly do way worse like pastries and fast food. Could just be a combination of things like adverse weather, too long of days, no ready access to hot meals or drinks etc... On an aside DCF really is terrible for stuff sacks. Either it abrades through or the thin plastic lamination gets punctured. Most guys just chop down a heavy duty trash bag. If you want something more tailored to a pack you should check out garage grown gear for their Nylofume liner.

I’m hoping to thru the HRP in 2022. I’ve done a lot of hiking in the US. My main concern is getting good quality plant-based food in the trail towns. I’d be interested in hearing about your experience with that and lessons learned.
