A brilliant clip from the 'Car Lot Baggars' - Arthur sells a car thats brought back with grass growing out of it! The customer is none too pleased....the way Arthur handles him is brilliant.

It was 80s London brought to life Arthur and Terry were on every street they were always in transition. Usually found downstairs Wembley Market on the lookout for the VAT man and Mr Chisom and his Welsh choirboy.. Worked in a tied pub where an Arfur come round on a Thursday with Japanese Scotch and Romanian Vodka, he was a mush not from Shepherd Bush but Maidavale in a Camel Hair Coat and a maroon Jaguar. Never figured out what happened the real stock probably Wembley Market lol

A lot of the actors had been on The Sweeney 5-10 years before, mostly before they tried turning that into a comedy. The last series of the Sweeney fails as both drama and comedy, which is a miserable send-off for what had been a fine show.

R.I.P George. What a great program that poked fun at all levels of society, but with great affection, and for a program about working class Londoners it didn't look down on them and both Terry and especially Arthur were erudite talkers without betraying their working class roots. A reminder of the time that my home city of London still had its own identity, with crafty cockneys of all races going about their business. How nice those old cockney accents sound now compared to the hideous affected patois that passes for a London accent in many parts of it these days.

I loved this series, must have missed this one though, but it did make me laugh. Back in the 80's I had a Daimler Sovereign, an truly lovely car, big safe and comfy, one day my wife and I ventured into the countryside for the day, and had a nice picnic and a bit of fun in the woods,, anyhow a few days later after the car had been standing (I should mention it was our car, my wife also drove) I had a Landrover and a Transit van too, anyhow we were going out somewhere and going to use the Daimler, on opening the door I was totally shocked, there were long stalks and mushrooms growing from the carpet by the pedals or toadstools or whatever, unbeknown to us the car had a stopper missing from under the foot well and and when it rained it was soaking up under the carpets and underlay, when we were in the woods I must have picked up spores on my shoes and transferred them to the damp carpet!! The dealership had to replace the stopper, clean and treat the carpets and as an apology gave the car a total thorough valet and filled both fuel tanks.
